Extra passed pawn in the rook endgame
Yesterday after the finish of the Grandmaster tourney, where I lost 5 games in the time trouble I decided to follow this plan:
Study tactics 2 hours a day to improve the speed and the calculation skills.
Play the Titled Tuesday on Tuesday and play 1-2 blitz games daily and analyze them.
I played one game yesterday against International Master Simon Ansell from the United Kingdom. He played the London system against the Slav and played next c4 which I accepted. In the middlegame he got counterplay for the pawn and the position was equal. We got into a rook endgame with an extra pawn, but the defender rook behind. It was importan to cut off the attacker King to keep the draw:
