Road to the Grandmaster title - Kumania round 11 - Final Conclusion

In the final round I played with the Hungarian FIDE-master Tibor Bódi, who made an international Master norm in the tourney after 9 rounds.

He played the Ben-oni defense. I did not remember how to play the lines where black sacrifice a piece for counterplay, so I decided to play more positionally, but I miscalculated and his active pieces became quickly too strong and I could not avoid the loss of material:

The final game was a good general example to show what should I work on to improve. I need to overview the openings which I play. I like to play active positions where I have enough space. I decided to review the games of Gary Kasparov and Bobby Fischer. Maybe also the games of Magnus Carlsen.

The most important thing is to improve my calculation skills. I decided to work on tactics at least 1 hour daily until I feel more confident about calculation.

I started pretty well with 5 point out of 7 games then lost the last 4 games with basic blunders.

My expected score was 5,08 points, so I lost only 1 rating point. Good learning experience, which helped me to setup new goals and new dedication.

Please help me on my journey and learn together!
