Road to the Grandmaster title - Kumania round 5 - 14 years old GM candidate

In round 5 I played with Leon Luke Mendonca, a 14 years old Indian International Master who just made 2 Grandmaster norms in October and November. He arrived from a GM tourney which he won with 7,5 point out of 9 games. A very impressive performance!

I decided to play solid and chose the Bogo-indian defense. I gave up the bishop pair, but got an even position in the center. 

In the time trouble after lot of exchanges I missed the g5 move which challenged my pawns. The position was still equal, but hard to play.

He missed one winning chance and played g5-g6 too late when I was able to reposition my pieces to defend.

When he won a pawn an e5, that just transformed to position to a draw.

I was happy to make a draw with black against a +2500 player.
