Road to the Grandmaster title - Old Benoni defense

Road to the Grandmaster title - Old Benoni defense

I started my chess day at 7:00 am by solving puzzles until 8:00 am.

Today is the 51st day when I did these exercises to improve my calculation and visualization skills to reach the grandmaster level in those areas too. I invite you to solve the exercises I worked on today in my LIVE stream on my twitch channel at https://www.twitch.tv/attilaturzo

Every day you can join me when I work on tactics.

You can watch how did I solve the puzzles:

After 2 hours of coaching I played 3 games and analyzed them on on my twitch channel at https://www.twitch.tv/attilaturzo

In the first game I played against a grandmaster. He played the Nc3, g4 variation in the advanced variation of the Caro-kann defense. I did not know how to play it, missed some tactics and lost the game

In the 2nd game I decided to change my opening and played the Catalan opening. I got a good position in the closed variation, but played too slowly and allowed his to open up the queen side and his bishops became too strong.

In the final game my opponent played the Old Benoni defense. I was able to break his blockade with f4 and e5 and created a defended passed pawn on d5 which won me the game.

Last day I managed to sleep 6.5 hours, which is not enough.

I will give my best to reorganize my life to get more sleep to have energy for the games.

My blitz rating went from 2499 to 2494

In the last 8 days I played 33 games, lost 20 games and won 11 games and drew 2 games.

You can watch the video about how I played and analyzed the games on my twitch channel at https://www.twitch.tv/attilaturzo

After the lessons I went to run with my daughter and we stopped at some nice trees where we climbed and played on the trees.
It was 110th day when I was running every day for the Grandmaster title.
