Tourney in Ireland - Ennis rounds 4 and 5

In the round 4 in the Ennis tourney which started at 10:00 am I played with the strong Ukraine International Master Oleg Gubanov.

I played the London system. He replied with the queen's indian setup. He exchanged the bishops with Ba6 and later offered the queen exchange with Qa6, which was a mistake. It allowed me to play Qb5 to offer Qxb5 exchange. He declined the exchange and went back to b7. I was able to gain space on the queenside and get a string d6 knight.

I got the better position, but I was not able to break his defense.

He defended well and he used time better, than me. Sorry, I forgot about time and only realized the danger when I had around 1 minute versus 10 minutes and I started to make bad moves and lost the game.

In the afternoon I played with Sergey Beryozkin.

He played the solid 3.e3 4. Bd3 setup against the Slav defense. I decided the develop the bishop out of the pawn chain with Bg4. He developed the knight to e2 to block the bishop. I wanted to neutralize his d3 bishop c2 queen battery and maneuvered the bishop to g5 by h5.

He build up a strong center with f3-e4. I countered it with  e6-e5 to force d4-d5 to get the c5 square for my bishop to attack his king. After Bc5 the knight joined the attack on g4 and after his mistake I was able to finish the game with a nice combination:

After the quick victory in the final round I got time to explore Ennis a bit more.
I went for a walk to buy some gifts and look around.
I visited the Franciscan Church of the Immaculate Conception.
Mother Mary

Saint Francis.
Inside the church

I presented an Ave Maria book to the Father of the church.

You can order the book on the website of the Godmother foundation at https://istenanya.hu/termek/ave-maria/ If you need help, please message me!
I finished the tourney on 6th place with 3.5 point out of 5 games and gained 1,3 FIDE rating points.

I got a good position in every game out of the opening. I still need to work on time management, use less time when there are more than one similarly good moves and make one of them quickly to save time for more critical positions.

The final result:
