Welcome to Patzer's Square

My name is Brian Denton and I've been playing chess for a long time. Yet today my game remains the same as it was the first day I learned to push pieces: horrible. Quite embarassing, actually. I'm constantly forked like a November turkey, pinned like a voodoo doll and mated more than Jenna Jameson in her prime. But I've decided to invest a little time and effort into improving.

This blog will document my progress. The plan is to work my way through chess.com's study plan, play as many games as possible and write about my chess journey here.
