Welcome to my end-of-the-year blog! This is a new tradition I'm making where I post a new blog at the end of every year (well, not technically the end of the year but you get my point). Since this blog is sooooooooo long I decided it would be better to break up the year into two parts. In this blog, I will be doing the first half of the year, and in the next blog, I will do the other half.

I will be reviewing all my blog posts this year, including the links, and my inspection of it all. I will also be talking about my chess improvement over the year. Let's get into it!

    January 2022

Ah yes! This is the first month I was actually active on chess.com! I had my account for over a year at this point, but I didn't play a lot or did anything here. But, now I started to figure everything out. On the second of January, I started my first club, The Club Of Friendship *note: this is a hyperlink to my club's homepage, this is not a join link*.  I'm not going to get much into this, but we are celebrating our first anniversary as a club, and it has been a fantastic year. * I am not advertising or asking any of you to join or even look at my club.*

Now let me think.... Did I post a blog in January? Nope. I didn't post any blogs until March. Now, let's look at a game or two from January.

This is the first game I won in 2022. it's definitely not a fantastic game, but not bad for a 400-rated player.  My accuracy was just 36.7. wow. Pretty low right?  Not bad for me though, I was just happy for a win! I had lost and drawn one game already that month, definitely made me happy to win!

This one I was playing as white.

My first Daily game of the year. Yes, yes, a very good game for a U500 daily player! Lol. My opponent was rated much higher than myself. I was so happy when I saw I won. It was an amazing feeling to know that I was actually better than someone higher rated than myself. It's a very good feeling. My ratings for bullet, blitz, and daily for at the end of this month were: 566 for bullet, 368 for blitz, and 505 for bullet. I don't play rapid 😂

  February 2022

What did I do that month? It was a pretty basic month for me. I was starting to make club owner contacts (or friends, whatever you want to call them). I started doing more puzzles and playing more blitz. Really nothing much. I got my platinum membership that month.

Let's look at two games.

In this game I was playing as white, it was a daily game. I won on time.

What a short game! This was the first time I won a daily game on time. I honestly didn't even know that could happen. Not much to talk about for such a short game.

In this game, I was playing as black. This one was a daily game as well. I lost by checkmate.

Ah! That's better. A little bit longer of a game. After this game I started doing my puzzles, I didn't realize how much they could teach me until I played this game.
After this month my bullet, blitz, and Daily ratings were at 557 for bullet, so a 9-point loss. 393 for blitz, an 80-point increase! And for daily, 588, that is another 80-point increase!

      March 2022

Ah yes! Good ol' March 2022. Now, what all did I do that month? I honestly don't remember it all. I think I joined Club Wars events with TCOF, and I think that's it. I will still in the learning how everything works phase.  So I will just show two games here and my rating changes for daily, bullet and blitz. My ratings were 600 daily, a 12-point increase! For bullet, 584, a 20-point increase, I was very happy about that. I've always loved bullet time control. And for blitz, 443. A 100-point increase!!! I should start playing blitz again.

I also posted two blogs in March. *Tap on the thumbnails to read*

This blog is "The Story Of David, T, Herman".

And this one is "This Is The Story Of Josh J Jackson".

These two blogs were the first blogs I did, they aren't very good, but I still enjoy reading them.

Now, let's take a look at two games!

In this game I was playing as white, I lost by checkmate, and this was a Daily game.

Ah! Nothing like the feeling of being crushed by someone 900 rating points higher than yourself. I have to say it was very upsetting being the first game of the month, but what should I have expected? My opponent is 900 rating points higher.

In this game I was playing as black, I won by my opponent resigning. Oh! And this was a three-minute blitz game.

I played really well in my opinion. This was my first win for the month. I really enjoyed playing it, I didn't really play blitz a lot back then. Blitz is a really good way to improve without spending a lot of time on one game.

     April 2022

What a month! So much was happening! This month I really got into blogging. I was learning more and more tricks, and I was doing as many puzzles as I could! Remember, at this time I didn't have a membership, and I was using the app on my phone. I am still using my phone, but I'm using the website, and it is much better! My club, TCOF was growing fast, and I was learning so much about chess.com. let's take a look at my blogs for the month.

*note: tap on the thumbnail to read the blogs. I am not advertising. I am not asking anyone to read or view my blog. Thank you.*

The name of this blog is "The amazing story of Alfred Hitchcock".

I only posted this one blog in April. It definitely isn't great, but it was a part of my blogging journey.

Now, let's see how my rating changed since the month before. My bullet rating was 655, a 70-point increase! My blitz rating was 613, a 170-point increase! That's pretty crazy! And for daily, my rating was 549, a 59-point loss. Now, let's look at two games from April 2022!

In this game, I was playing as black. It was a daily game. Unfortunately I lost by checkmate.

Wow. I keep getting out with very high-rated players at the beginning of that month. Definitely not fun being put with people who sometimes has 1000 rating points better than yourself. Still, not that bad. Sure this person was about the same rating as me, but sometimes you just get outplayed.

In this game, I was playing as black. This again was a daily game, but I won by checkmate.

It always feels good to beat someone who is more highly rated than yourself. My opponent was almost 200 rating points better than myself. It was a fantastic victory in my opinion. A great game, a great Checkmate, and a great learning experience.
                    May 2022
Wow. What a month! I played hard, and a lot! I also posted so many blogs I lost count! I started my "club newsletter" blog in May, I posted seven blogs I'm that series.  What else? I was doing more and more puzzles and was getting a lot better.
Please remember, I'm not asking you to read these blogs.
" CD's Club Newsletter #1"
That was the first custom thumbnail I've ever used. One of my fellow bloggers made it for me. And I also posted my first all-chess blog. The first blog I posted was only about chess!
"Bullet vs blitz vs rapid vs daily"

I know, I know. It's short, it has no games, and it's not a good format, but that was back before I had advice and help for very successful and popular Top Bloggers.
Now, let's look at two games from that month. Please remember, I am not reviewing these games, I am simply complaining about the games from the month before to show improvement. Now, let's take a look!
In this game, I was playing as black. This was a daily game, and I won on time.
What a game yeah? If my opponent didn't run out of time I would have lost. This is why I always say, Never give up, never give in. I never quit games that are looking bad, and I never accepted a draw (unless I have no choice 😂). I was getting tired of winning on time though.
In this game, I was playing as black. I lost by checkmate. This was a three-minute blitz game.
Oooooh! What a hard game! It was a humble defeat. I am not upset with this game, sometimes, you just get outplayed. And it was a blitz game so it wasn't bad.
Now, for this month's bullet, blitz, and daily rating update. For bullet, my rating was at, 958, my friends, that is a 300-point increase! For blitz, my rating was, 632 a 21-point increase! Not bad, not bad at all! And for daily, my rating was at, 619. A 70-point increase! Not a bad month!
                     June 2022
Alright. In June TCOF got 300 members, I started blogging with feedback from TBs (top Bloggers) and I began my training for CW club events staff. That month was Kanda crazy for me. So much HAPPING! Alright, let's review my rating changes for June.
Same as last time, bullet, blitz, and daily. For bullet, my rating was 1031. That's a 70-point increase! For blitz, 590. that is a loss of 40 points. Hard month for blitz. And last but not least, my daily rating was 653. A 30-point increase. I am definitely happy with that. Now, let's look at two blogs from June.*remember, you don't have to read if you don't want to.*
" Getting a chess Coach does help"
June just happened to be the month I posted my most-viewed blog ever! My coaching blog was my most successful chess blog. This next one was my most successful club-related blog. I didn't do it alone, my good friend @hughienews helped me write my most  popular series:
"Club ownership: the ultimate ideas, experiences, and solutions from two very successful club owners."

I really enjoyed doing that blog series. It was a ton of fun and I did it with my SA and best trainee: @hughienews.
Alright, let's look at two games from June!
In this game, I was playing as white. This was a bullet game in a Chess.com tournament.
Ah! This game was the start of a fantastic bullet run! I won 12 bullet games that day. It was definitely fun! Ever since then I started playing bullet a lot more and I started interning a lot more bullet tournaments!
In this game, I was playing as black. I lost by checkmate. This was in the same bullet tournament.
This was the first loss of the month. It wasn't a bad game. It was, yet again, a game where I was outmatched. Nothing to be ashamed about. Bullet has helped me with my chess reflexes and being able to remember different openings, playing styles, middle games, and end games.

           The End Of Part One
I have to say, I have definitely enjoyed writing this blog. It has been so much fun to look over the year. I am looking forward to part two of this blog and doing this again next year. Keep an eye out for part Two. It will probably be out sometime before Christmas or right after!
Thank you all for being on this amazing chess journey with me!
See ya next time!
