The Tennison Gambit is a line in Reti's opening as White, although it can be transposed from the Scandinavian, which is much more popular.

It starts with an early pawn sacrifice on E5 and gives you a good position if they decline the trap, through the various lines I will be talking about.

The Tennison Gambit is also referred to as the ICBM Gambit (Inter-Continental Ballistic Missle Gambit) because of a popular chess video made by the Bosnian Ape Society.

This is the Tennison Gambit, and if all works well, your opponent will either resign or lose after some time:

Counter-Trap: Be wary of this trap, and don't be greedy!

Variations: It is not so common that your opponent will accept. These are your responses if your opponent doesn't(And not do):

(P.S. All of these lines can be transposed from the Réti Opening after 1. Nf3 d5 2. e4)

Lines that Decline the Tennison:

#1: Transposing into the French, Knight Variation:

#2: Caro-Kann, Two Knights Attack:

#3: Unnamed Line (Calling it Tennison's Scandinavian Opening)

#4: Elephant Gambit (Uncommon)

Accepting Lines:

#1: Unnamed Opening: The Delayed Bird's

#2: Unnamed Opening: The Center Queen

#3: The Best Move Order for Black (Play as regular)

Non-Trapped Lines:

#1: Unnamed: The Pawn and 3 Knights (Not recommended)

#2: Unnamed: Tennison Game: Bishop Attack:

Conclusion: The Tennison Gambit is an opening with many tricks and traps, which can leave your opponent helpless.
