Chess.com/TV: Danny Almost Gets Locked Out!
The Official Chess.com/TV Group Blog
Hey everyone! Well it's been a while since I did a blog of any kind but here is a recap of "The BIG Show" hosted by IM Danny Rensch. As per standard, Danny did his 10-game Live Chess simul at 15|30 time controls, and since today was an All Members show, there were a lot of people itching to play him and challenges flooded in as soon as he opened them.
There were some issues with Live Chess today which resulted in Danny almost disconnecting from it on three separate occasions, locking him out for a minute or two while his clock ticked away. He was able to get back on all three times but almost lost a game due to it. If he was locked out, that would've been the 2nd time in the last 3 weeks that he would've lost every game due to a disconnect. Luckily that didn't happen and our Host, ever going forward, moved on.
Only 10 were picked so let's get to their games in the order that they were completed.
Game 1: vs. Mainline Novelty - B80 Sicilian Scheveningen 6.Be3 & 6.g3 with English Attack
Game 2: vs. bigdrummerboy07 - B29 Sicilian 2. Nf3 Nf6 Nimzowitsch Variation
Game 3: vs. Ai7iS - B07 Pirc Defence Misc. Systems
Game 4: vs. MarkaMark - B01 Scandinavian Defence
Game 5: vs. Xonius - B01 Scandinavian Defence
This was the game that Danny almost lost after one of the Live Chess lockouts. He came back on with about 20 seconds left on his clock and was still able to win the game.
Game 6: vs. SamiOlsson - E10 Blumenfeld Gambit
Congrats go out to SamiOlsson for a well fought draw.
Game 7: vs. BoboHead - B72 Sicilian Dragon 6.Be3, lines with h3 + Bc4 and sidelines
Congrats go to BoboHead for the only win of the day against Danny.
Game 8: vs. Kahnyri - A45 Trompowsky Attack
Game 9: vs. wehrump - C55 Two Knights 4.d3, 4.d4 exd4 5.e5 Max Lange Attack
Congrats to wehrump for another well fought draw in the longest game of today's Simul.
Final Game: vs. igalse - B80 Sicilian Scheveningen 6.Be3 & 6.g3 with English Attack
So that's it today guys. +7/-1/=2 for Danny but it could've been a lot worse if the full disconnect happened. Thanks to all for playing and watching and we'll see you next time on Chess.com/TV!
Have a good night!
