Once Again, Perfection Passes Danny By!
The Official Chess.com/TV Group Blog
It's been a while since I did a recap of any Chess.com/TV show, but despite me not physically being there for the show because I slept for about 15 hours this mornng until tonight, I figured I would give a whack at it to see if I still got it.
The show began today at 1 PM Pacific/4 PM Eastern/9 PM London time and was played under Danny's usual 10-game simul standards; which means 10 games at 15|30 time controls, random color. Today Danny faced challenges from players ranked 1270 up to 1727, but still had obstacles thrown in front of him that avoided him having another perfect show. Something he has only had less than a handful of over the course of the show's career. So with that, here are the games in the order they finished in:
Game 1: vs. Elucid33 - B33 Sicilian Pelikan and Sveshnikov Variations
Game 2: vs. MrRijndael - B30 Sicilian 2...Nc6 3.Bb5 without lones of ...g6
Game 3: vs. Arpie - A45 Trompowsky Attack
Game 4: vs. Samsch - C58 Two Knights: 4.Ng5 d5 5.exd5 Na5 Sidelines
Congratulations go out to Samsch for winning this game against Danny!
Game 5: vs. hokiesfan - B12 Caro Kaan: Advance Variation
Game 6: vs. shengyi - E32 Nimzo Indian Classical (4.Qc2) 4...O-O
Game 7: vs. WYoung913 - B79 Sicilian Dragon YugoSlav Attack: 9.Bc4 Bd7 10.O-O-O Qa5
Congrats go out to WYoung913 for winning his game against Danny!
Game 8: vs. FrankWho - E66 King's Indian: Fianchetto: 6...c5 7.O-O Nc6 8.d5
Game 9: vs. nate23 - B93 Sicilian Najdorf: 6.f4
Final Game: vs. JBades6310 - B42 Sicilian Kan Variation 5.Bd3
The last Congrats of the day goes out to JBades6310 for winning the final game of the day against Danny.
Coming out of this second to last episode of The BIG Show, Danny gets a respectable 7/10 score. Perhaps on the final show coming up early next week, he'll go out with a perfect BANG!!!
I will be uploading the entire set of games today to the Chess.com/Downloads section for anyone who wants them. Have a good night everyone.
