The Official Chess.com/TV Group Blog

How is everything going everyone! Yes it's a little past showtime but I'm not busy, or sleepy, right now, so here I am with today's recap of the Chess.com/TV show Your Games Analyzed. As always, the show was hosted by GM Magesh Panchanathan and aired at 10 AM Pacific/1 PM Eastern/6 PM London time.

The one thing that changed this episode was how the game was to be submitted. Normally, a trivia question is asked and whoever answered first and correctly gets to submit a game. Easy right? Yep. But over the last week or show, it was suggested that a chess puzzle would be used and whoever chose the best move for the side that had the next move would get to submit a game.

So after a careful re-creation of the puzzle, a very famous puzzle Magesh added, here it is.:

It's White's turn to play, and look for the best possible move White has OK?  :D

So, did everyone get it? The answer is Qb8+. The member who got to get his game submitted was Shuffleking74. It was a Correspondence game played here on Chess.com vs. check2008.

Here's the game he submitted. Magesh's analysis/variations is in the PGN itself so just take a look at it and play though the game:

The next show on Chess.com/TV will be tomorrow (May 9th) and it will be IM Danny Rensch's "BIG Show." It will air at 1 PM Pacific/4 PM Eastern/9 PM London time and it is open to Platinum/Diamond members.

   Have a great night all!
