"How to improve at variants" Part 2 - Bughouse
Hi guys ! I am back with another chapter of "How to improve our variants" !
So , our today's variant is Bughouse.Bughouse , also known as doubles , is a very famous and fun variant in chess.com.In this you have to play with a teammate , and either of you have to checkmate the opponent to win.And the most fun part is that you can place your teammate's captured piece to help you to checkmate the opponent !
So now , I am going to tell you how to improve at this variant.
Point #1 - Develop the pieces
Developing the pieces in bughouse , is as much as important as in a standard game.
Point # 2 - Good communication
You will need a good communication with your teammate to win the game.Hence , to make this improve , chess.com as some chat symbols which help you to do this but many people don't use it.So, if you have a good communication , you can win !
Point #3 - Save your pieces
You will need to save your teammate's captured pieces to win.Use them only in a very critical position.
Point #4 - Safety comes first
Defend your king before attacking and even place your teammate's captured pieces to win.
Point #5 - Material advantage and captures
Try to keep material advantage .This will help your teammate get some extra material. If your teammate gets extra material , he can use them and capture many pieces and those pieces will again return to you and you can use them !Like this , by toggling , you can win ! Also , even try to keep pawn advantages. It will help a lot.
Point #6 - Attacking
Yes , finally attacking ! When attacking , make sure that you attack when you feel that the enemy's king is exposed and you have many pieces of your teammate to win.
And that's all for today ! Meet you in the part 3 of "How to improve at variants" !
