Fair Play Update - May
Hey Chess.com Community! May was a great month here on the Fair Play team, and I feel that we're making great strides to catching more sophisticated cheaters and catching all cheaters faster than before.
Here are the numbers.
For the community, we're excited to publish more blog posts that will help you learn about some of the trends we see for players that are cheating. One of the ones we are working on will share some insight as to the account ages of players that we close for cheating and how that's evolved over time.
We're also excited about the progress we continue to make in our continuous battle with malicious browser extension users. We detected a few additional extensions over the past couple months and continue to decrease the amount of malicious extensions that cheaters are able to get their hands on.
For the titled community, we continue to invest in our tournament monitoring software called Proctor. In May, we surpassed 500 unique participants in our proctoring software since the start of the year. As with any new software getting off the ground, we continue to aggressively work through bugs and other player reported issues. It's our goal and expectation to continue ramping up participation and drive towards a full release to all participants of prize money events later in 2025.
Finally, we continue to maintain and expand our external relationships, both with fair play supporters/contributors and players that have an interest in what we do.
Stay tuned for more updates on the blog. Until next time! 🙂
Yours in Fair Play,
FM Dan Rozovsky, Director of Fair Play
