Events- Sandbox Chess
These are events for sandbox chess. All of them are ideas and can be changed/removed if the community agrees on it. Anybody can input an idea, and if it gets enough support from the community, it will be added.
Some of these are directly taken from NEISG.
Energy Based Events
Energy Stacks- Energy production is halted. 7 days into the event, everybody gains a burst of 8 energy. 14 days into the event, everybody gains a burst of 9 energy.
Energy Booster- You can spend 3 energy on your turn to move twice! If you move the same piece twice, you cannot capture on either move.
King of the Hill- A random square is chosen on the board. This random square must be not in the range of any piece and be far away from any existing piece. The army with a piece in this designated square gains 0.5 energy per update!
Piece Based Events
Variety- Pieces are not allowed to move twice in a row. Pieces that moved last update will be highlighted with an orange box, so it'll be simple to tell what piece you aren't allowed to move.
Crippled Amazons- All knights, unicorns, and spirits gain the ability of crippled amazons! They go back to normal upon ending of 14-update cycle.
Agile Troops- Hunters, guards, and knights can move up to three times. They cannot capture if they move twice or more.
Knight in Shining Armor- Any piece with the movement of a knight (Knight, Archbishop, chancellor, spirit, dragon) gain the movement of a unicorn for the duration of the event
Witch Trials- A powerful spell is cast across the entire board which makes all pieces transparent to allied pieces! This means any piece that can slide across the board will be able to move through friendly pieces. See rules about witch for a better explanation on how being transparent works.
Attack Based Events
Carnage- All pawns become invincible but can't move forward. They can defend pieces. You also gain 100% energy from captures.
Sudden Death- If your king is captured during this event, you lose 20% your total worth (energy+army worth)+ 5 energy.
Genocide- Every 12 points worth of pieces you capture, you gain one energy. Fully eliminating somebody grants you five energy.
The Calm Before the Storm- The first 7 days of this event, there is no capturing and all pawns are frozen and invincible. Everybody gains 2 energy per move instead of 1. In the final 7 days, genocide, carnage and sudden death activate. This event has only a 10% chance of replacing sudden death, genocide, or carnage when they are picked.
At this time, there is a 1/11 (9.09%) chance for any energy/piece based event to happen. There is a 9/110 (8.18% chance) chance for any attacking based event to happen. There is a (2.72%) chance for calm before the storm to happen.
