My First Video Course!
How can you play better in the opening, putting pressure on the opponent without spending so many hours learning lots of opening theory?
Imagine that you spend a month studying an opening book in full...only to find that people keep avoiding the lines you studied! Then, when someone finally plays into your prepared line, you already forgot the moves...
There is a much better way to learn your openings, based on what your opponents around your level will typically play (as opposed to GM games, which most theory is based on).
That's the philosophy behind my new video course, 'Best Junior Chess Openings' -
presenting an opening repertoire for White and Black in just over 1 hour.
The focus is on the moves you'll face most often in junior games and at the low club level - I don't waste time on moves you won't see much!
Here is an annotated game with one of the repertoire suggestions, showing how you can not only get the edge against junior and club players but even use them against strong players ![]()
In short - these lines are 'easy' for us but still challenging for our sub-1600 opponents
The only way you can access this series is by being a part of 'The Chess Improvement Group'.
This is deliberate, as one of the biggest advantages of this format is that you can ask questions at any time in the group, to learn more about different variations, expand your knowledge through a group discussion, or even share your game and find out how you could have played it better!
