I’m Not So Sure How I Feel About This “Cast Announcement”
"Cast Announcement"??? More like "Trash Announcement"...................... sorry. I just had to say that. Basically, we got our first look at Shrek 5 and Universal titled the video "Cast Announcement"... but it looks like trash... so that's why I said......... you know what? Nevermind. I'm not doing this anymore.
The bottom line is, we don't need a Shrek 5. We didn't even need a Shrek 3. ( You know what we do need? Puss In Boots 3. But NO. For some reason, we're getting a fifth movie on the supposedly "UNIQUE" fairy tale of Shrek 🤢 )
*CoUgH COuGh*

We already had our "fOrEvER afTeR" 4 MOVIES AGO.
Anyways, I've been rambling on and on just about the thought of a Shrek 5 that I don't even think my tiny little brain has contemplated the fact that this is actually happening. THIS IS NOT A FEVER DREAM. THIS IS A REAL MOVIE COMING SOON TO REAL THEATERS. IN 2 YEARS, I'M GONNA BE SITTING DOWN WATCHING SHREK 5.
Nah... this has to be a fever dream:
...but sadly, it's not.
...and Zendaya's there.
Ok, first of all, let me just say that millions of Shrek fans have already addressed the fact that the animation style has changed, I just haven't wasted any of my time to hear what they actually have to say about it; because here's the hard truth:
THEY ALL LOOK ABSOLUTLY HORRENDOUS.

Meet Shrek.

Meet Donkey.

Meet... who even is that? FIONA?! WHAT!?
WAKE UP, @JEHTT; WAKE UP!
Oh no, no no! That's not all! The change in the animation is actually the least of my worries; ummm... I don't know... how about the fact that this isn't even the teaser trailer of the teaser trailer and they said the D-word in the 25 second "CAST ANNOUNCEMENT".
...I think Dreamworks is starting to forget why this franchise gained even a single bit of popularity back in the day.
I haven't always been a Shrek fan. In fact, I'm not even sure you can call me a Shrek fan right now. I'm literally not joking when I say: the only reason I watched those films was because of Puss In Boots; it's just facts. If he isn't in this movie, I'm not watching it. Period. End of story.
BUT, I guess there is one thing that could maybe save this film: Chris Meledandri, the CEO of Illumination.
Apparently, Chris was the executive producer of Puss In Boots: The Last Wish, ( Which I did not know until like 5 seconds ago ) and is now returning back to the Shrek universe for the fifth installment of the franchise. PIB: TLW is actually my third favorite movie in the entire universe of the world in the history 🤣 ( Don't judge me ) and I still don't really know why. Who knows!? Maybe it could've been because Chris Meledandri executively produced it!!! 🥴
.......................................................well, at least I tried to find something I'm looking forward to about this movie. 💩
Anyways, I had a few notes on this "Cast Announcement" video:
- Fiona is INSANELY unrecognizable; I genuinely thought that Fiona was another one of Shrek's daughters when I saw her for the first time in this video; it looks absolutely NOTHING like her; and the 2 words she said, tho fr 😭 ( I'm really scared for what else Universal has in store for this film, honestly )
- Why is Zendaya up in here; and also, where in the world is Shrek's other 2 kids??? 🤔
- Pinocchio's redesign looks so sigma ngl 😎 ( But also like, why was he actually in the 25 second preview; he's not even that big a character 💩 )
- Universal tricked us with that first look at Shrek and Donkey's reflection in the mirror 😭

⬆ It looks like the original animation 😭 ⬆
*Sighhhhh* Too much has changed, and this was also very sudden; I'm not really excited for this movie. If anything, I'm honestly kind of scared. 🥸
Is Shrek still the "All-Star" we all used to know and love? Or will his new shot fall short?
...............I don't know. I was trying to come up with a cheesy, dramatic ending...... oh, forget it.
