Marvel finally spoke up about Thunderbolts*.

All the way back in April of last year, Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, announced that the upcoming film "Thunderbolts" would have an asterisk at the end of the title. ( Making it Thunderbolts* )

Nobody knew what this meant.

Most Marvel fans thought it meant the MCU was introducing the "Dark Avengers" whatever that is... and they were... partially correct. In a recently posted international poster, the punctuation's meaning was finally revealed...

*THE AVENGERS ARE NOT AVAILABLE

...yeah.

I honestly thought this was kind of disappointing news. After all this hype of fans rambling on and on about what they thought it meant, in the end, it's just one of those markers that directs your attention to the bottom of a page. ( Or poster, in this case )

Who knows? Maybe there's more to the story that Marvel is still trying to keep under wraps.

Even though I don't really know what the Dark Avengers are, I think there's still a pretty good chance of that being part of all this. I mean, apparently the Avengers aren't available, and the Thunderbolts are supposed to be the team that can raise to glory and be the heroes on the Wheaties box... with the little...... kiddy toy, so...

The point is, we know the asterisk has something to do with the Avengers if what I explained is not the full meaning, and the Thunderbolts are all ( In their own special ways ) anti-heroes in dark suits, so....................................... 😆 ( Don't judge me; these are just my observations; like I said, I don't know nothing for no one for nothing about the Marvel comics and/or the "dArK aVeNGeRs" )

...so, there.

This is the most excited I've been for a movie in a LONG time ( DEFINITELY the one I'm most looking forward to this year ) ...but my excitement ends at just one... point... the rating.

I've talked about the rating for this film a LOT recently because truthfully, I'm terrified. If this movie's rated R, I don't know what I'll DO with myself. Well, the first step would be suing Kevin Feige, ( I don't know if you can sue on those terms, but whatever... ) and then the second step would be absolutely obliterating my college savings that I don't have, flying to Calafornia, and raiding Marvel's headquarters.

...so LET'S HOPE IT'S NOT RATED R! 🤗

The real reason I'm bringing this back up again is because yesterday, I found out ( 5 months after he said this ) that David Harbour, AKA the Red Guardian, said: "I think it's going to really surprise people... it's a pretty cool direction the MCU's making now... and I'm excited to be a part of that."

...What.

...WHAT!?!

WHAT DO YOU MEAN "IT'S A PRETTY COOL DIRECTION THE MCU'S MAKING NOW"!? ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT R-RATED, FILTHY, DIRTY ROTTEN DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE? CAUSE IF YOU ARE... YOU'RE IMPLYING THAT THUNDERBOLTS WILL BE RATED R AND FILTHY AND DIRTY AND... rotten...

*Clears Throat* But nevermind that! 🤗

I trust that Kevin Feige has a plan, and it does not involve any R's in it. ( Well... I mean... besides the "R" in "Thunderbolts" ig )

........................................................................................................................nevermind... I'm weird.

*Inhales* Remember this day... remember this day as the last time @Jehtt yapped about how scared he was that Marvel Studios' "Thunderbolts*" was going to be rated R, before anything was officially announced.

...because the next time you see me, I might know the truth. And whatever that truth may be... I'm ready for it.

Because I............... am IRON MA-

OH, WHOOPS! Wrong movie.

So... a few days ago at the All-Star game, ( Or some other important... basketball... game... I DON'T KNOW ) it was confirmed that "A Minecraft Movie" will officially be rated PG. ( I really don't know why sometimes I "open/closed quote" the different movie titles and sometimes I don't......... I'm super weird )

I'm not really sure how I feel about this.

It still feels like yesterday when that first teaser trailer came out and I literally died when one of the people said "what the he-double hokey sticks" within the first 20 seconds of the video. 😆

So... it was rated PG for "violence/action, language, suggestive/rude humor and some scary images".

...wow. Try saying that 10 times fast.

*Crickets Crickets*

...sorry.

This just feels a little too... overdone. The hype really died down recently and I'm starting to think that people aren't even gonna go see it anymore; not even for the memes. ( Well, of course yours truly will but..................... oh, forget it... )

Let's talk for a second... how did THE WILD ROBOT earn an OSCAR for "BEST SOUND"?!?!

If you've been following Jetplane Movies for a while now, you should know that sometimes, I can be a VERY meticulous movie critic. And that was showcased... pretty well in my Wild Robot movie review. I thought I was being PICKY about the sound effects... and then it was nominated for that SAME thing... with an OSCAR.

Either I'm 100x more picky than I thought I was, or these Oscars people are just plain old DUMB...

I think I have my answer........................... NONE OF THE ABOVE! 🤗

OKAY, LET'S MOVE ON!

( BTW, I would've done a whole blog on the Oscars/The Academy Awards/The Golden Globes/15 other award ceremony's I'm probably forgetting but I thought that could've been a HUGE slippery slope on the internet so... nevermind that, I guess! 🤗 )

Last September, we got news about the Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider Verse script... and it was not looking good...

As I said in part 3 of my "Sony Spider-Man Universe" blog series, ( CLICK HERE ) movie critic Jeff Sneider released a report saying that Sony SCRAPPED most of the movie due to creative/animation differences and that the film probably won't release until 2027. That report was later denied by the film's music composer AND also by the producer/writer of the series, Chris Miller BUT, they never said anything about a delay still being true.

The reason I'm bringing this back up is because 1-2 months ago, one of the actors of the film, Jharrel Jerome, ( Earth-42 Miles Morales ) announced that he had still not been called up to the studio to record his lines yet.

...this is concerning. I mean, of course I don't really know how the whole filmmaking process works so maybe this could be normal, but... I'm not so sure. ( He might not even be that big of a character and Sony's just holding off on calling him up, IDK ) What do you think? COMMENT BELOW!

Something feels really off about all this. Across The Spider Verse came out almost 2 years ago and Beyond was SUPPOSED to come out last MARCH.

They told us the date was bumped due to the actors strike... but how can that be if everything I just said is true? I want to know what's really going on... Sony's up to something... and I'm gonna get to the bottom of it... maybe never.

THE END.
By the way, 2 new movies have been added onto my radar: "The Amateur" and "F1"
( The Amateur is literally PG-13 John Wick and F1 will probably be rated R for language, but that's I've got VidAngel, ig 💪😎 )

Jetplane Movies has been such an amazing journey for me. To look back over the years and see my style of writing change has been so fun and it's been such a blessing having all of y'all by my side. Whether this is your first time reading, or you've been a fan since the beginning. I thank you; from the bottom of my heart. This has been a very exciting part of my writing career and I'm so happy with how it's turned out. It's definitely had its ups and downs, (*Cough Cough* The @Jehtt Tribute) but I'm so excited to now be able to share these blogs with the Chess.com community... even though they are ALL about movies. Enjoy!
