3|2 Blitz!
Hello everyone. This will be the first post where I will be discussing games that I play right over here on chess.com. Here, I will be showing you two blitz games that I played over the last week. Also, I have an update on my tactics: I have now crossed 1600! My current rating is 1678.
The first game was mainly a maneuvering game. I made a blunder in the middle, but then due to mistakes from my opponent, I was able to win. The second game was wild, full of blunders and mistakes. In the end, I was close to winning, only to blunder and then draw the game.
Some things to learn:
- Playing …h5 in the Sicilian above can be helpful.
- Tactics, tactics, tactics!
Blitz always used to be quite challenging for me. Before, I used to play too slowly. Now, I play faster and make mistakes. But I a getting better. At least I am not as slow as the sloths in 'Zootopia'! (I used to be)
I am noticing a bit of irregularity in my chess study. So, here is a study plan for myself that I will follow strictly:
- Tactics everyday
- Study one grandmaster game a week
- Do "Grandmaster Preparation-Calculation" puzzles daily.
- Play at least two blitz games or one rapid game every three days. Spend the days in between to analyze these games.
I hope that I can keep up with this plan! I have not yet touched a hundred woodpecker puzzles-I hope I would have reached that by the next post, where I will be analyzing my 3rd game from the Fiji Chess Nationals 2020.
