Between organizations, chess, people and NFTs
The challenge of playing with players from all the countries of the world continues to be achieved by other members of the club. This week we recognized my son's achievement by completing his chess.com passport, with 241 flags in less time and fewer games played than I had succeeded, just as he had proposed. Personally, I am also proud because at his school he entered the honor roll as a flag bearer, he is a remote student who will complete his last year of primary school in person next year. In other words, he represents "a dream return to normality", after 3 years of hard study and also fun in what we call "School at home", which would be similar to a double school schedule. Languages, programming and chess were his extracurricular subjects. For us this week was very emotional, due to face-to-face reunions with my son's school and with our family from inside and outside my country.
Management, marketing, quality, technology and diversity were the ingredients of my academic and professional life, which are present in all organizations and represented with the chess pieces with their board, (one kingdom or country , one company, one club, etc), their movements with military tactics and strategies in battle, or with business tactics and strategies, etc. Sometimes it is a bit paradoxical, in any organization we are all different with individual thought models and it is intended to align cultures, organization, purposes, systems in collective thinking and doing, it can be contradictory.
When you make decisions, you are also sacrificing a part, to do and not to do, what do you prefer today or tomorrow? They can be opposite. In quality, efficiency (assumes routines) versus innovation (assumes breaking routines), are opposites.
In the world of diversity, learning from experiences and understanding others is a challenge, for those who give priority to image, others to the results, others to the processes and others to the honor of the people, there is a great variety of nuances in this regard.
I tell my son and the team that we have to find the balance to be a great club, it is continuous learning in every way. New modalities such as chess by votes, daily chess were added to what we had already been practicing live tournaments, more training in problem solving, daily problems, puzzles, more friends with whom to share and exchange opinions, experiences, videos, articles, etc.
Chess.com is not only the No. 1 chess room in the world, it's all about chess. Which is contradictory that NFTs are only games, when chess.com is all about chess. I suppose there will be future updates to include more types of tokens on images or videos of all the great creativity that there is and will be on the platform, even personal or club profiles, which could be monetized (designer author, chess.com and members) By the way, I received offers from collectors and NFTs fans made offers for the token I designed with the chess.com flags for other markets, but we did not agree on the price.
At Global Citizens Club we are celebrating one month, we are small, we barely exceed 100 members, with coordinators in the 5 continents so that members feel identified and represented. Regardless of your natural citizenship or nationality, legal residence, you represent your country and our club when you compete with other clubs, we are global citizens. Ultimately, we are all earthlings who represent our planet, in case you haven't noticed, we live there, united by our passion for chess, friendship, fun and learning. We welcome everyone with open arms, including aliens.
May you all have a very Merry Christmas and New Year, 2023 🎄⛄🌟🎅🎁💕
