Future Vision for Chess.com Clubs: Everyone as Protagonists

Dear friends, UX designers, and programmers! Thinking about what we need in our clubs and what we would like to see in the upcoming versions of the platform regarding clubs and their competitive environment.

We strongly believe that there should be a season finale in December. In our club, we have already implemented this approach, but we would have preferred Chess.com to automatically close all ongoing daily chess matches and pending vote chess games. This way, there would always be a winner, even in those games in progress that should be automatically closed, with the winner determined by material advantage.
Every sport in the world has seasons, downtime that coincides with the traditional year-end
holidays, and an annual break for many people. Additionally, there are preseasons of 1 or 2 months to engage in practice or training with some live tournaments, series, or preseason championships, as is the case in soccer, basketball, etc.
In our 2023 season, we closed live activities on December 10th, accepted the last daily chess challenges in October, and had our Preseason in January, followed by the start of the 2024 season in February. We will close the season on December 8th and publish our last UPDATENews (weekly publication with all club information) of the year on December 11th.
It would be great if every year, starting on the second Sunday in December, all daily chess matches and vote chess games would automatically close, allowing the match rankings (Daily Chess) and Vote Chess rankings to clearly show the season champions with cash awards and prizes for clubs and their players. These rankings would remain until the start of the next season when they should reset. By the way, I've noticed that rankings should be updated in real-time.
By rankings, I mean all of them, including club rankings and individual community members in all modalities.
For example: In our club, we played 40 vote chess games(club history), lost 4, and won 36, resulting in a 90% victory rate. If they award 5 points per game won (5*36= 180), we should have 180 points, putting us at top #305. However, at this moment, we only have 90 points, ranking us at top #600.
It's incredible that something as significant as rankings is not updated in real-time, as it represents the image of all members, clubs, and the Chess.com platform itself. It would also be good to mention that while some clubs have these features, others do not. We urge for equality and no preferential treatment for clubs. For example, in our club, we cannot host live multiclub tournaments because our activities get canceled.

In summary, this is not a complaint, criticism, or accusation; it is a set of ideas that I hope
will be understood to capitalize on what customers or platform users want regarding clubs. It
represents a great opportunity for improvement, hopefully embraced and shared by many. I want to highlight that the platform is excellent in other areas, which is why it's the world's No. 1 chess platform. The recognition and prizes in cash, the monetization of the clubs would be an important stimulus for the development of our mental sport on the chess.com platform, giving rise to everyone being able to be protagonists, not just a small and select group of players. If Chess.com does not respond to these needs and new customer requirements, in the future, another entrepreneur could seize this opportunity from these new paradigms, if they are not already doing so.

Speaking of recognitions, at 241 (Global Citizens Club) we have awarded more than 3,000 medals, trophies, badges and we awarded 51 "241Adwars" at the end of the 2023 season. The appointments are a reward for their performance in club events. A few days ago we appointed new ambassadors (honorary coordinators) for the highest scores in our club:
for Bullet to @Chameleon_94 (top#179), for Blitz to @HristiyanIliev06 (top#307), for Rapid to @Khvicha_Supatashvili (top#9), for Daily to @KarasunoCrows (top##177), for 960 Daily to @alirezagolzar (top#8) and @Srisshhhtea is the first Female International Master of the club. Congratulations to the recognized members, that inspire us to improve.

Finally, in March we had wallpapers to celebrate International Women's Day, Happiness Day, Water Day, Tourism Week, Holy Week, and Easter. Make your opinion known and share this article with your friends, thank you. Happy Easter!
