Today chess engines (computer) are very strong, they even beat strong GMs, strong engines like Stockfish, Komodo, etc. has an elo rating around 3200-3300, and no human has reached 3000. So, if you looking for the answer, the answer is NO. Computers are just too strong for humans to beat. but its not a total no, it's still possible to beat the strong computers.

A chess computer usually has trouble in a very closed position, there is a legendary game where Hikaru Nakamura beat a chess computer Rybka in a 3|0 blitz game with 271 move! Hikaru keep the position very closed to make the computer confused.

In the closed position, after many moves Rybka was starting to make errors and Hikaru is clearly winning. Rybka was programmed not to resigned and Hikaru finished it with the bishops in 271 move. So, beating a computer is NOT IMPOSSIBLE but the computer has bigger chance of winning, and we know that it will be impossible soon in the future since it will become stronger and stronger.
