The "Tricky" 4 Player Chess
Ok, playing a 1v1 or 2 player or standard chess is hard (sometimes also easy). But there is something way harder than standard chess, the 4 player chess or the 4PC (click here to play 4PC now!). In regular chess you only get attacked from your front, but in 4 player chess you got attacked from 3 sides, your left, right, and of course front.
So if you never played or very new to 4 player chess, I will tell you the rules:
- The pieces move like in normal chess
- Pawns promote in the 8th rank
- the turn will be always clockwise starting from red, then blue, then yellow, and last green. and will go to red again and repeat it again until the end .
- Player could claim win if the have so many point ahead of other pleyers
- This is the point system: capturing colored pieces: capturing pawn +1, knight +3, bishop +5, rook +5, and queen +9. Checkmating the opponent: +20, Stalemating yourself, checking 2 player simultaneously +1, checking 3 player simultaneously +5.
- If a player got eliminated/resigned/checkmated his/her pieces will be color grey and if the grey pieces capture, it doesn't reward any points.
Tips & Tricks For 4 Player Chess
Thats all of the rules, now you must be understand the rules. Let me tell you, I like to play agressive attacking like The Magician on the standard chess, but I like to play very defensive like Iron Tigran on 4 player chess. I play defensively because usually the most solid player wins and not the most agressive player.
The most agressive player have high chance of losing because of the open position, having an open pisition of fragile defense is very very risky becausee you could be attack from all side. So, lets just stay safe and wind from a chance.
The second tips, try to promote your queen pawn to a queen as quickly as you can. Many people race their pawn into their 8th rank to a queen, that is also what you should do. Wait a second, in my strategy I don't immediately, I will move my pawn in front of the queenside bishop 1 step first to prevent get checked after moving the queen pawn.
I move my queen pawn because the queen protect it, and I move the queenside bishop pan not the knight to prevent check because I don't want my knight to be pinned. After moving the queenside bishop pawn one step I move my king pawn one step because if my right mve the king pawn it could capture my bishop if I move my queen pawn immediately. Thet is my opening, you can make your self too.
The 3rd. Use your bishop to attack! In 4 player chess bishop is very good, that's why in 4 player chess bishop's value was 5 and not 3 anymore. One of the best way to do a sneaky long range diagonal attack is to fianchetto your bishop.
If you already have a good defense and promote your queen the other way to is to claim win, to claim win is to gat so many points ahead of others. To get many pionts, just find every hanging pieces, and find every possible checkmates. But make sure your defense is good before attaking.
If you claimed win your opponent point will be added by 20 but you also ends the game, and you still have more points even after you opponent got +20 points.
The last tips is don't castle when everyone still alive, because for example if you castle to kingside you will be attacked badly by the player in your right. you can castle if you left/right go eliminated. If your left was eliminated then castle kingside to move away from your right, if your right was eliminated then castle kingside to move away from your left.
That is all from me about 4 player chess, now you can get ready to play 4 player chess in your own. My dear readers, don't forget to be creative experimenting new things, and keep studiying to get better and smarter!
