The JYPX method is introduced here: https://www.chess.com/blog/MisterOmega/jypx-method-for-chess-decision-making

The use of the JYPX method to solve tactical combinations is detailed here: https://www.chess.com/blog/MisterOmega/the-jypx-method-to-solve-tactical-combinations

Now let’s see how to build a plan with the JYPX method. We will see later that the JYPX method can be also used to find the best move.

When it comes the time to build a plan, regardless of the phase of the game (opening, middle-game, endgame), we must also know the plan of the opponent, because we will see that the nature of our own plan can be conditioned by the opposing plan. The JYPX method must therefore be applied to both sides. This time, the question Why of the opposing side is important, it is to be aware of our own weaknesses and strengths to design the opposing plan, which constitutes a threat. Of course you also have to put in place your own plan and be aware of the opposing weaknesses.

The plan is deduced from the assessment of the position, of the opposing weaknesses especially, it can be conditioned by the pawn chain that indicates where to attack, by the opposing King who is not so safe, the material gain or mobility of Pieces. But it can also be determined by the awareness of its own weaknesses, so it can also consist of defending.

In the next position, the whites have just played h3 to force the Black Bishop to make a decision. Blacks are going to be tempted by a sacrifice in h3, but we'll see that this plan doesn't work!

Black side:

Why? The position of the whites is weakened by h3, and the blacks have a strong Queeen-Bishop battery pointing to h3. In addition, the b6 Bishop and the f6 Knight are in ambush. All the conditions seem to be in place to carry out a decisive attack on the White King.

What? Blacks want to destroy the white king's protection.

How? Blacks are considering the possibility of sacrificing their Bishop in h3.

Where? The action will take place around h3.

Who? The Queen, the Bishop and the f6 Knight will come into play.

When? Immediately.

How much? In 5 moves the position should be more favorable.

For what? to checkmate the White King.

It follows 10): ...; Bxh3. 11) gxh3; Qxh3. 12) Kh2; Fxf2. And we find ourselves in this position that seems to give an advantage to blacks.

The e1 Rook is attacked, it follows 13) Re2; Kg4. Then 14) Rb2! h5. 15) Qf3 with an advantage for whites.
