Chess Study - Day 8
I'm not happy with my 50-50 performance on Tactics Trainer. I think I should have done better if I had focused more, and taken longer to think about each problem. But, on the plus side, my Tactics Trainer rating is now 1844, so far my best rating. I completed 10 tactics but only solved 5 of them.
I completed chapter 10 of Endgame by Frank Brady. Spoiler Alert, Robert Fischer wins the World Championship.
I am getting myself in the habit of stretching, using my TMAS machine. But that is a sitting stretch and I feel like I'm sitting way too much during the day. And one things for sure, I won't stand for all this sitting!
As you can see from the image of this blog I received the ever elusive TV Guide award because apparently I watched some Chess TV. I'm not sure why I received this award now. It could have been a glitch that they only fixed recently but anyways, here's what happened...
I was watching Attila IM attilaturzo stream on chess tv and challenged him to play a game. He was playing a lot of people on twitch and would often rematch other people. I'm not sure how long I was watching the stream, but it felt like forever. This was likely due to the fact he was playing everyone but me it seemed, and the fact he kept playing rematches.
I clicked over to twitch a few times for a second, and had to reload the screen on chess.com a couple of times to fix a delay on Chess TV. ChessCoachNet's stream had started for a little while while I was still watching Attila's stream. Eventually, I challenged him to play as well. Finally I gave up on playing Attila.
I quickly had a match with "ChessCoachNet" (I only had to wait through a couple of other games).
Although I managed to create some tactical complications, I didn't make much of it and ended up losing the game. After I lost this game I clicked to analyze the game...Achievement received! I finally received the TV Guide award stating that I had watched some Chess TV. Like I said before, I'm not quite sure what the exact reason was that I received this award, and why I didn't receive it before. I remember analyzing a game I played with NM SamCopeland and didn't get the award then so...
