D4 pawn structures. Hanging pawns. two annotated games
Hello fellow chess player,
I am sorry again to inform you that this may take longer than I thought. I plan to do all 8 between the end of this week or the weekend after. But I do want to thank all 149 people who looked at this course. (Myself and some may have looked at all 5 currently made so it would be at least 34 people.)
In todays lesson we are going to look at 2 games from a quarter of every 1.d4 opening I have covered. The Hanging pawns , link is down below. Two more of these will end my 1.d4 course inside a course. Thankyou for reading this.
Learning objective: Hanging pawns can be modified after trades on e5 and how to attack in this way.
Final remarks: Black lost after 17... Nd7 and Dxe5. Black's kingside is exposed.
Learning objective: Black is successful with c6-c5 with a kingside attack next.
Final Remarks: bxc5 made it hard to advance white's queenside pawns. The c5 passed pawn was a weakness, not a threat.
Thankyou for reading!
