Interview conducted on October 30, 2025.
@aime is being interviewed.
Me: Why did you choose the username you did, and has it been changed before?
Aime: It's a quite a long story, basically I came across @satamoto's forum in CVC when he tricked support into giving a free inactive username, I was super curious to try and I knew that it won't work but after 2-3 days I recieved an email that your username got changed It was 6am and I shouted so hard Iike I will truly won't forget this moment..
Me: Oh my-
Aime: I forgot 🗿 And yes it has been changed before to Kavarin, previous was @KingKillerXI and I wanted to show a new side to the community soooo I changed my name to kavarin (it truly became iconic)
Me: I was like "Wait...what-" when you changed you username. OH SHOOT HAVE YOU BEEN QUOTED-
Me: Why did you choose your current pfp?
Aime: The PFP quite matches my name, I love mochicat and it's pfp's and the main reason is there is expectations for winter to come so I enchanted my profile with a touch of winter vibes ✨️
Me: Nice! It captures the winter vibe quite nicely (:
Me: Are you owner of or staff in any clubs? If so, which ones?
Aime: I was a massive club admin but I came to inactivity and all club owners told me your doing nothing (literally) so I told them to feel free to demote me ;-; From owning clubs, I own Asteroid Destroyer's it has 956 members and I am trying to get it to 1,000. (Its a grave for all cc inactive legends) ._ .
Me: How did you find Chess.com social and what is your opinion on it?
Aime: I'm obsessed with websites interfaces and UI so I almost click anything. Until one day I came across a icon on the sidebar with alt text written "Social" it lead me to forums and clubs so I was quite surprised that chess.com had a wide-open social side, and here we go I have now 7,000 views and became truly an iconic.
Aime: And my opinion? Eh Before I start I hope staffs aren't seeing this lol, but the site is the worst from socializing and clubs..
Me: Do you prefer clubs or OTF, and why?
Aime: As a member who experienced chess.com social and it's buns I would say, I prefer clubs more, It's a safe place for forums and communication if there is a member who behaves bad or any inappropriate forum then they would reach a super admin and they will obviously delete it that's so efficient..
Aime: And for OTF, You start your journey from a small post and a random weirdo will downvote or just flood your comments, And also I hate scrolling through OTF posts because I find some very inappropriate racism forums and a member will come across it and DMa staff and the w-o-w staff will take 3d to come with a nonsense response -.-
Aime: Clubs for the win! d=(^o^)=b
Me: What would you say is your greatest achievement on Chess.com?
Aime: From what I remember, The 94 passports look legendary to me.. There are so many, But my brain is up in the sky so I dont really remember lol-
Me: Thank you for your time! Are there any blogs/clubs/people you would like to shoutout, and if so what/who are they?
Aime: Huge shootout to Chess.com Vs. ChessKid, Truly an amazing community
Aime: And shutout to all of these people who supported me in this journey: @Kyu13, @Car-Geek, @VidyutV, @Marie_Hoa, @FreeFriendlyDove, @Jared, @Scemer, @TheAuthorOfChickens (you!), @F1-24, @Solflaren, @Fossil, @carlsen, @sailsword, @BermudanPM. There are more! Sorry if I didn't add you!
Aime: Thank you for the interview! Hope you have a great day!
Me: Thanks, and you too!
