Hello! Welcome back to Behind the Avatar (credit to @Witch31415 for the name)! I'm your host, @TheAuthorOfChickens. In this series, we get to know more about some of the people on social!

The interviewee is @mjtcan (referred to as "Mjt" in this interview).

Me: Welcome to the sixth episode of Behind the Avatar. Today we'll be interviewing @mjtcan. So, to get started, tell us a bit about yourself. What are your hobbies?

Mjt: Hello Author! My main hobbies include Sport Climbing, ethical debates, reading and video games.

Me: Hmm interesting. I also enjoy debating, but it can sometimes get a bit tiresome or annoying. I just realized I forgot to ask how you're doing, silly me! I hope you're doing good. Anyways, why did you choose the username you did?

Mjt: I'm doing great thanks for asking lol. My username was created by my dad a while back and I've just never bothered to change it. I think I have one of the longest-running usernames of anyone I know. The username is my initials plus can. I've honestly never been sure if can stands for Canada or for "he can do it".

Me: Maybe the "can" stands for "Crazy aliens near" like you're trying to warn us of an invas- lol. Regarding your profile picture, I think it's been the same the whole time I've known you. But what made you choose it?

Mjt: Shhh don't tell anyone that. Yeah, like my username I've just never really bothered to change my pfp. I honestly don't 100% remember which club I chose it for. I either chose it for Anarchy.inc or TGDI (not advertising... probably) as it was my character for one of those two RPG clubs. I had really similar characters in both clubs so I don't really remember which one came first.

@mjtcan's profile picture at the time of interviewing.

Me: Interesting. I can see you being in Anarchy.inc but I don't quite remember if I saw you around during my time in that club. Well, speaking of clubs, how did you find Chess.com social?

Mjt: I think Chess.com social is great. I particularly like mafia and RPG clubs. I understand that many people think it's a waste of time on a site supposed to be dedicated to chess, but I disagree. I'm able to play chess as well as be active socially, so...

Me: Interesting opinion. I do think social can be bad if you're not careful, but there are definitely good examples of being on social a healthy amount. Staying on the topic of clubs, do you own any? If so, please tell us about them.

Mjt: I don't really own any real clubs, but I am the owner of my private club for testing and saving information. I'm also the owner of the club War in OFT Alliance, which is exactly what it sounds like—an alliance in an OFT war game.

Me: I think almost everyone on social-ish has a private club lol (nothing wrong with that I have one too). Just because you aren't owner doesn't mean you can't get promoted. Are you staff in any clubs, and if so, what are they?

Mjt: I'm staff in a few clubs, although almost all of them are pretty much dead (probably nothing to do with me, but you never know...). Mostly RPG clubs like WWIII Roleplay, which I'm admin in and Anarchy.inc and The Green Dragon Inn, where I'm SA. I'm also an admin in The Bullet Club and The Not-So-Hotspot. I don't normally leave clubs when they die, so I end up staff in a bunch of dead clubs. Although restoration efforts have taken place in some of them.

Me: Nice! Dw I doubt they're inactive because of you. While I'm in none of them, I hope the restoration efforts are successful. Although that would mean more active clubs, more people being active in there, and thus them spending more time on CC, which is usually not a good thing...Discussion for another day. Or the comments of the blog. Next question. What was the first big club you joined, and how did you find it?

Mjt: Thanks lol. The first big club I joined was Team Canada. I just saw it on someone's profile and decided I should probably join it.

Me: That's kind of funny because the first club I joined was American Group. IDK I just find it interesting that for the both of us it was a club for our country. Just a few more questions. Do you prefer clubs or OTF, and why?

Mjt: I normally prefer clubs as I don't think there is much on OFT that isn't on clubs but I don't find the opposite true. I also find it easier to find the kind of activities I enjoy joining in clubs as they're often labelled better and repeat what they do constantly. Honestly, no idea if that made sense or not, but it did in my head.

Me: I understand what you're saying. Alright, what would you say is your greatest achievement on Chess.com?

Mjt: Hmm... I'd say either getting my record of 55 bullet games won in a row or my placement in the top 10 of the three most recent CvC Hurt/Heal games.

Me: Both good choices. I'm gonna wrap this up. Before you go, are there any blogs/clubs/people you would like to shoutout, and if so what/who are they?

Mjt: I'd like to shout out Author's series of Behind the Avatar as well as the clubs Chess.com vs. ChessKid and J 3 N.

Me: Yes, check out my blog series fr- Welp, thank you for your time! Is there anything else you'd like to say?

Mjt: Nope, thanks!

Me: Sounds good!

Me: Remember to eat food, breathe, sleep, and watch Top Gun! Cya!
