Behind the Avatar - Qoiuoiuoiuoiu
Hello! Welcome back to Behind the Avatar (credit to @Witch31415 for the name)! I'm your host, @TheAuthorOfChickens. In this series, we get to know more about some of the people on social!
Today we're interviewing @Qoiuoiuoiuoiu (referred to as "Qoi" in this interview).
Me: Welcome to the fourth episode of Behind the Avatar! How are you doing today?
Qoi: Pretty good, how about you?
Me: I'm doing good as well, thank you for asking! To get started, what is your name?
Qoi: I'm Qoiuoiuoiuoiu, but most people call me Qoi or Qoiu.
Me: Nice. I prefer Qoi. Qoiu is just too many letters lol. So, Qoi, what are some of your hobbies?
Qoi: lol. Hobbies? I love chess, obviously, but besides that, I enjoy playing board and card games of all kinds, especially Magic the Gathering. I also play the alto saxophone and fence competitively.
Me: Oh cool! I didn't know you fenced! Nice. Now let's really get started. Why did you choose the username you did?
Qoi: Uh.... keyboard mash, quite literally. I wanted a username that wasn't a word, but was still pronounceable, so I threw dice at my keyboard, darts style, until I got Qoiu, then extrapolated from there.
Me: This is the funniest username explanation I've heard so far XD. Staying with usernames, what's the history of your username? Have you changed it at all? Has it been the same this whole time?
Qoi: Hmm, good question. It actually started out as Qoiuoiuoiu on some other site, but I closed the first account I had here on chess.com, so I had to add an extra "oiu" to the end. I also use MTA_SNAIL occasionally.
Me: Well, congratulations. I now have to find your account and copy the username every time I want to include it somewhere. I think everyone knows the answer to this, but I'll ask it anyways. Are you the type of person who changes their pfp a lot or do you like to stick with the same one? Also, why did you choose your current pfp?
Qoi: *coughs* Well I basically don't ever change my PFP. Ian added a green square for me, that's about it lol

Me: Yep lol. Alright, moving on. Do you own any clubs? If so, please tell me a bit about them.
Qoi: Technically, yes. I'm the de-facto owner of Bird Supporters, a private club for H/H III, when things got WILD. I got ownership when Ian closed accidentally... anyway. I also "run" The Blitz Empire, a dead club run by the inactive @curve2x, formerly known as eliteFire. Oh, and I own a club called club.
Me: A club called "club". Excellent name. I'm sure it'll become famous. Well, you're owner of some clubs, but do you have a staff position in any clubs? If so, what are they?
Qoi: I'm a super admin in Chess.com vs Chesskid, also known as CVC. I'm also a coord in UCN, and some club called Author's Flock... idk who runs that one
Me: Hm...Author's Flock. I totally don't know exactly who runs that one either. I'll have to look it up. Anyways, what was the first big club you joined, and how did you find it?
Qoi: UCN. It was kinda by accident, honestly. I had no idea what clubs were and kinda stumbled into UCN through.... I think it was either Isen or Stormy's profile page. I kept seeing it around, and eventually I figured I'd join just to kinda check things out.
Me: Interesting. I've heard it's not doing too well anymore. What was it like back when you joined it?
Qoi: UCN was at its peak back then. Not just crazy active notes - we had a really competitive daily match team back then too. I remember, we always had at least 10 people signed up for every upcoming daily match.
Me: I wonder if y'all scared any clubs with your army of DM players lol. Before we start wrapping up, what would you say is your greatest achievement on Chess.com?
Qoi: Hmm. I guess I'd say that as a member of CVC, I'm really proud of what we (the members of CVC) have created - Chess.com's greatest, most welcoming, most active online community. CVC holds a special place in my heart, I think.
Me: I agree. CVC is awesome! Alright, are there any blogs/clubs/people you would like to shoutout, and if so what/who are they?
Qoi: I wanna shoutout @Caleb341, @Jared, and @F1-24, the other three SAs of CVC for putting hours of their lives into making CVC such a great place, along with the rest of our staff and coordinators for keeping the club a welcoming place with plenty of daily matches (lol). I also want to thank Ian for dragging me into becoming a more active member of the community, and shoutout FCB's blog about how to get free diamond membership. Oh and one club I want to point people towards is Promote 2 King, the most well organized daily match team I have ever seen on chess.com.
Me: Nice, all excellent choices. Do you have anything else to say before we leave?
Qoi: No, I don't think so. Thanks for interviewing me!
Me: No problem! Thank you for your time!
Me: Remember to eat food, breathe, and watch Top Gun! Cya!
