Playing as the Serial Killer in S2 G1 WEREWIZIANS (J 3 N)
I recently got to replace an inactive player in a mafia game in J 3 N. I decided to record my experience playing in this game for your entertainment. I might do more blogs like this.
Sorry if it gets a bit too confusing or rambly (Day 1 and we're definitely gonna need a table of contents 💀)...Screenshots of comments have been included so we don't have as large of a chunk for daytime but it's still quite long. I used the Inspect tool to fix the quote bug. Also, if you're confused as to why the order in which things are explained and stuff in the screenshots don't match up, it's because the decision to use screenshots was made during Night 2.

For those of you who don't want to join a club just to see the stats of a mafia game, here's some basic info to help you follow along more easily.
Nicknames are included next to the person in quotes. These are the names I refer to the players by throughout the blog (I've included my nickname only because applicable, dw I don't refer to myself in third person here lol).
A list of the roles everyone had along with when they died/got lynched will be at the end of the blog.

I replace @KingKen_1 for inactivity. My role is Serial Killer. (keep in mind this is my first time playing in J3N and I wasn't even there for sign-ups)
This is only N1 so I don't really have any strategy. I randomly select Beteigeuze to attack. Unfortunately for me, she was either defended or too strong to kill and my attack fails.
There isn't that much that happens in-between me replacing Ken and D1 starting. Maybe because I joined in the middle of N1 or maybe because it's...well...night. After looking back at the forum, it seems that it's the former.
Also RIP @Gray-Rabbit1.
Beteigeuze would be there too if my attack hadn't been thwarted-
The thing that surprised me was that people started sharing info. Normally I'd hide the info I received until it becomes important, so that I can keep my role a secret. But apparently that's not how we play in J3N. Or I don't remember the other mafia games I've played in correctly.
Beteigeuze says she was attacked and defended. Hahahaha, yeah that was my attack.
The more experienced players begin discussing. I mostly spectate and wonder what on earth they're talking about.
Above is true because Devin died and was Oracle, thus he's not sus.
And then Sriyo asks for the towns who visited Dove to claim. Now's my chance. I check the rolelist for a role to claim. I decide on Medic. I reply to his message and type in "I claim Medic" but don't immediately post my comment. Should I really do this? Oh well. Let's go for it and see what happens.
Around the same time, Sriyo asks Fossil (Lookout, or at least so he claims) to confirm wether I visited Dove or not. Whoops. Yeah, I'm not an experienced mafia player, if you couldn't tell XD
I agreed to Fossil's proposition of me telling him my next target and DMed him that I plan on protecting Mtj. This is obviously a lie and I know I'm starting to get backed into a corner. My plan that I just kind of came up with is kill Fossil and then if Mjt dies, claim I got roleblocked. The thing is, we're not playing with a mafia faction. And there's no neutral roleblocking role. And why would the town roleblocker roleblock the person who could be the Medic? Um...IDK I guess I'll figure it out...
Staying on the topic of the above proposed plan, you might say "But Author, wouldn't killing Fossil so he can't say you never visited Mjt make you suspicious?" And to that I say: Exactly. That's what I'll claim. That the Serial Killer is trying to make me look suspicious. Boom. Problem solved.
A conclusion I came to is that I like being town in games of mafia better. It's easier to be truthful with your claims and alibis because truthful claims and alibis always match up with the truthful info other people might have about you. But when you lie about your role or who you visited, there might be evidence another person has that goes against your story.
Rabbit and Sriyo vote for 74 so I hop on the bandwagon. Others do to.
Beteigeuze reminds us she can fight someone at night. This means he's Fighter.
Rabbit says I have no reason to hide who I protected N1. I don't reply. Sriyo asks me who I visited. I decide to claim I visited him. No comment from anyone.
74 reveals as Mayor and Jen confirms this. Afterwards people change to vote Rabbit for saying we should vote 74.
And then Eldest posts this:
My first reaction was "Oh shoot" but then I realized this doesn't affect me, at least not right now. This further "proves" I'm the Medic. Mwahahahahhahaha
People then start changing their votes to Tum, including me.
Sam closed his account at some point during D1, so he got disqualified and is awaiting replacement.
I proceed to go to bed. I wake up, log on to Chess.com, check the forum, and discover the vote has changed once again. Now Mjt is getting voted. But first a recap on what happened while I was away.
Steven posted a helpful claim-list:
Definition of moi: "me? (used especially when accused of something that one knows one is guilty of)". I assume CB is ChessBeteigeuze.
And this is when I come online.
Before going any further, to add to my previously stated plan I decided that if Mjt were to die and my attack on Fossil were unsuccessful, I would claim I'd forgotten that my plan (or at least that I gave to Fossil) was to protect Mjt so he could watch him and confirm I visited him. This was before I logged back on to find that Mjt was the new candidate to be lynched.

To this Rabbit suggests putting all inspectors on Mjt so they know they'll be getting a legitimate result.

Everyone seems satisfied about the day's lynched. I add in a "Nice".
Mjt may have been lynched but I can still try my plan. I attack Fossil.
I decide to say nothing so I don't have to explain myself if complications with protection and attacks and all that arises.
We also get an updated claim list:
Fossil DMs me asking who I'm targeting since Mjt got lynched. I tell him I'm protecting Dove. Welp, there goes my whole strategy. Now that I think about it, maybe he's wondering why I chose to protect Dove instead of...IDK...Eldest or 74, like Eldest said we should. I chose not to say either of those so he doesn't suggest I say so in the forum, but then again I could've just said I think it best to stay quite about protecting them...Welp here we go!
Another thought that just occurred to me: What if Fossil is telling other people (confirmed town so long as he's smart) to make sure that if he dies, there's still others who can try to confirm me? How will I explain myself to them if Dove dies? Claim I got roleblocked? Eldest told two other people he was going to roleblock Clock, so what if he does the same thing or even just uses his confirmed town-ness to claim he never roleblocked me?
Overnight (real life), the usernames change from bold to not-bold and Rabbit points this out with a screenshot asking if the usernames used to be blue. I respond that they used to be bold. Unrelated to the game but whatevs.
I get a chat message from Rabbit telling me to protect Darth since they already have someone protecting Mayor. He then switches to telling me to protect Fossil instead. I just respond with "Alright". I'm in trouble. Why? See below.
I guess if things don't work out with Fossil confirming and everything I can just claim I forgot to inform Fossil of my new plans and hope for the best.
I can't really claim I got roleblocked because Eldest is basically confirmed Roleblocker so yeah I am really getting backed into a corner. If I get lynched Day 2 or 3, this fiasco is probably why.
My first reaction is: OH. MY. GOSH. Five people died-

I come back to find that my suspicions were correct about everyone immediately blaming me for Fossil's death.

I decide to not fight as everyone is sure it's me and I know I'm guilty. I post a comment about knowing I was screwed.
Clock DMs me asking if I'm the Serial Killer. I tell her yes and she tells me to delete the comment as she's the Berserker and will try to save me. She begins telling me what to say and I follow her lead.
I asked about what if the others already saw the comment. She says they probably didn't. Oh really?
Yep he saw it 💀
So with the sudden Werewolf mention, Clock explained that it's deflecting onto a more dangerous target. My attempts promptly fail.
At least I get to insult Eldest's grammar.
After the comment about Eldest's grammar nothing really happens except Forsaken deciding to be, to put it nicely, Forsaken. I guess they're basically decided on me being Serial Killer.
Guys please don't lynch me I gotta kill Forsaken and then you can lynch me-
*COUGH* Okay back to game related things!
Clock accidentally sent me a message ment for Jen. I had to reply so if it was meant for Jen she'd actually realize it. Dw Clock your secret's safe with me (at least until this blog gets posted 😀)
I come back online after sleeping to find Day 2 still hasn't ended.
Instead of mafia related conversations, Dove, Forsaken, and Rabbit discuss about Dove's new PC. To be fair, everyone's already voted and there's no denying I killed Fossil...Getting lynched was worth it.
Steven DMs me asking about my role and says he's neutral. I tell him he'll find out when I get lynched. He then passes on the message to Werewolf, Berserker, or Serial Killer to kill Gavin because he's the Veteran. I pass this on to Clock who replies that she knows about Gavin.
Steven says I can at least tell him if I'm with the Werewizians or neutrals. I decide there's no point in hiding my role since not only is this person most likely a neutral but I'm getting lynched anyways so I tell him my role. He replies that that means only him and one more neutral are left.
I put two and two together and decide he's probably the Werewolf (yes, Werewolf isn't a neutral role but whatever). He doesn't respond to this. Probably because he offline. Or he doesn't want to confirm.
Clock tells me she suspects Steven of being the Werewolf and I second her suspicion.
2 hours after me asking Steven about being the Werewolf, he replies telling me he's the Executioner and then asks who the Berserker is because if I die, telling him would be manipulating the game after death.
I decide it's better to let Clock tell him on her own and DM her while adding that Steven is the Executioner. She replies that he isn't, as there aren't any slots left for neutrals. I'm the Serial Killer, she's the Berserker, and there's a Bounty Hunter. Welp, it's a good thing I didn't tell him who the Berserker is.
The rest of the forum stuff is just people chatting while waiting for day to end.
Reasons I like being town better lol
Even though it's been 24 hours and basically everyone has voted for me, Jen continues to not end day. We all know I'm Serial Killer so there's not really any reason to drag on the daytime period unless Jen's doing some hosting things we don't know about.
9 minutes after I posted the above comments, Jen ends Day 2.
Well, I may have been lynched but I'll still spectate!
Clock posted an image of people reading a newspaper with the headline "[Redacted because I don't wanna get muted] dead" but either her or Jen deleted it 🤷♀️
I went to post 2 memes (the one I posted above and the one below) but saw Rabbit's post got deleted so I assumed images weren't allowed and immediately deleted my comment. Maybe I'll just wait until after the game.
Yep. The evils had better run. He got the Wizard lynched Day 1. He got me (Serial Killer) lynched Day 2. Run Clock, run!
I don't think I caught Dove saying she's Detective. Maybe she claimed in DMs.
And then Eldest messes up. Yes. The man who makes the mafia members quake in fear messed up.
Even with the above mess up, I still have a conclusion. If you are an evil in mafia and Eldest is playing as town, then you'd better watch out, you'd better not lie, you'd better not mess up and I'm telling you why: Eldest is going to lynch you!
To the above comment from Dove, I say "Town Eldest is scary when you're playing with an evil role. I wouldn't be surprised if he's really good at convincing people of his innocence while playing as an Evil."

Since there are so little people now and the majority's been reached quite fast, Clock calls to end day right now.
By now it's really just me screenshotting things. Mainly because I'm dead and dead people can't talk.

I missed the entire game-ending and was mostly just trying to get caught up while also updating you guys so...yeah. I had 140 comments plus a few more to read through...
MVP stands for "Most Valuable Player" which means LVP probably stands for "Least Valuable Player".
I'm 100% spectating, if not playing in, J3N 3 so I can watch the epic battle between Eldest and Forsaken play out. Fellow J3N players, spread the word!
Ignore the stuff above the line I was asking about everyone's roles but checked again and saw Jen had updated the first comment.
Also Forsaken was complaining about wanting Amnesiac back which means she's been Werewolf since White Rabbit got replaced.

Role descriptions taken directly from the J3N rolelist.
The neutral roles are divided into sections on the official list but I've decided to group them into the same "Neutral" category.
Town
Psychic - the Psychic doesn't visit and gets a vision every night. on Night 1, 3, 5...they get 3 names of players (at least 1 of them is Werewolf/Coven/NK or NE). on Night 2, 4, 6...they see 2 names (at least one of them is Town) TI
Matchmaker - the Matchmaker visits 2 players. if they have the same COLOUR of role, they are a match. if they haven't they don't. the Matchmaker knows if they are a match (Framing Tokens don't change the results) note: Friend and Amnesiac (if they didn't choose a role that night) are WHITE roles meaning they are All COLOURS and show up as match with everyone TI
Lookout - the Lookout visits someone and learn all the names of players who visited the target of the Lookout TI
Detective - the Detective can investigate someone at night, if they are one of the Werewolves, Coven or Avenger the Detective will find them suspicious! TI
Oracle - the Oracle sends in the name of a role at night (example Detective). all players with that role will be protected (not against an igniting Arsonist). the Oracle visits the players they protect and can only protect townplayers. the Oracle can't protect the same role two nights in a row and can defend Oracles/Self Defense once per game (Heal Level: 1) TP
Medic - the Medic saves people from Werewolf attacks. Once per game the Medic can decide to protect themselves (Heal Level: 2) TP
Nurse - the Nurse protects someone at night. the Nurse can also additionally use 2 vests during nights to protect themselves as well (LVL 1 Defense). (Heal Level: 1) TP
(Unique) Mayor - the Mayor does nothing until thsy decide to say "I reveal myself as Mayor", when I confirm them as Mayor, the Mayor has 3 votes per day TS
Roleblocker - the Roleblocker blocks a player at night, that player can't do their action and will get a notification. the Roleblocker CAN'T roleblock the following roles: Transporter, Roleblocker, Veteran, Witch, Serial Killer (SK kills Roleblocker unless the SK predicted this and chose to attack no one) and Berserker (Berserker kills Roleblocker unless the Berserker predicted this and chose to attack no one) TS
Fighter - the Fighter can decide to challenge someone at night and make them leave town. the Fighter has 2 charges. (Attack Level: 2) loses all charges if they Fight a townplayer from GAME 8 TK
(Unique) Veteran - they have 3 charges, when the Veteran uses one they are protected for the night and kill everyone who visits them during night (Defense Level Alert: 1 | Attack Level Alert: 2) TK
Werewizians
Werewolf - (Defense LVL 1) the Werewolf attacks someone at night. on odd night the Werewolf has a LVL 1 attack. on even nights the Werewolf has a LVL 2 Attack
Wizard - the Wizard makes spells and can put them on someone at night. if you get visited by the Wizard, you'll LVL 1 attack the player you visit instead of doing your night action (and you get a notification). if you stay home, you'll attack 1 visitor unless you are Roleblocked. by getting targeted by the Wizard, you'll show up as suspicious to the Detective and Matchmaker. the Wizard can directly attack someone LVL 1 once (1 charge)
specials: if the Wizard and Roleblocker/Jailor/Town Sheriff target each other, these roles visit first (and overrules the Wizard). the Wizard still dies by an Alerting Veteran and still gets doused/infected by the Arso/PB if the Wizard visits them
Magician - the Magician has 2 charges. when the Magician targets a TI, the results of the TI will be misleading/incorrect that night.
Neutral
Serial Killer - every night the Serial Killer kills someone. the Serial Killer can't be killed by the Werewolf and Vigilante at night. they show up as innocent to the Detective. the Serial Killer wins if the Werewolfs and townplayers are killed. can only die by an Alerting Veteran , igniting Arsonist or Berserker (Defense Level 1 | Attack Level 1)
Berserker - the Berserker attacks on even numbered nights (2, 4, 6 etc.) this attack is a Rampage attack, attacking all visitors of the target of the Berserker as well. during odd nights the Berserker looks innocent, during even numbered nights the Berserker looks suspicious. (Defense Level 1 | Attack Level 2)
Executioner - (LVL 1 defense) the Executioner has a target (town) and wants them to get voted out to win the game. if the target of the Executioner dies, the Executioner becomes the Clown
Clown - this player looks innocent but they are the troll of the town, the Clown wins the game if they get voted out during day! the Clown always starts with 1 Self Defense Token (they will unstoppable attack one player who voted them out (or didn't vote at all/voted skip) the night after they won)
Amnesiac - the Amnesiac can choose the role of someone who died. they win by choosing a role before the game ends and finishing the winning conditions of the role they pick. unlike TOS there will be NO ANNOUCEMENT when the Amnesiac picks a role
