The Ban Attack of Paladins of Chess
Update: If the images are cropped, drag them into a new tab. You'll be able to see it in full.
Edit: I'm not going to go back and blur the usernames because 1) So many people have already seen this so it wouldn't do much anyway; 2) I'm sure everyone's moved on; 3) There are a lot of images; 4) IDK if Chess.com even takes action about this sooooooooooooo
I can try and work on not doing stuff like this but IDK really know how to...
On the night of November 26, 2023, @dexapokhrell, a new Admin of (this is the original one) Paladins of Chess, banned every member. The only members left were the Staff, as Admins can't demote. 900+ members in 9 hours.
When I logged on the night of November 27, 2023, I saw in the notes of Road to Titled Player @Ishaanharsha post about Paladins of Chess losing a lot of members. When I checked, the member count had dropped by a lot. I rejoined the club, as I had left it five days before, and asked what the heck was going on.
The original Paladins of Chess was renamed Was Paladins of Chess and a new club was created under the name of Paladins of Chess. It's new name is Not Paladins of Chess.
All screenshots are posted in order of when the notes were posted.
Some parts of this story have been left out.
This is what @dexapokhrell spammed in the notes of Was Paladins of Chess:
I arrived pretty late, but here are the notes from when people first started noticing:
And this is around the time when I arrived at the crime scene.
@Scemer and @justelliott61970 filled me in. @Scemer also request that I make a blog about this event, but who wouldn't think about blogging about an event like this?
And then @Scemer and @justelloitt61970 chatted for a few minutes.
@Scemer told me to screenshot this notice he posted in Was Paladins of Chess:
@dexapokhrell's account has been banned for abuse,
The Admins of Paladins of Chess are working hard to get all their members back. I think they would appreciate it if you joined the new club.
As I mentioned at the start of this blog, I left Was Paladins of Chess five days before the incident. And I'm glad I left when I did. Because yes, it's horrible that @dexapokhrell banned everyone, but because I wasn't in the club, I was able to rejoin and grab screenshots.
There have been other incidents like this that have happened recently, such as @Tanishk_101 kicking all the members of The Great Club of Chess: https://www.chess.com/announcements/view/please-report-3
https://www.chess.com/announcements/view/warning-2-1
https://www.chess.com/announcements/view/warning-20
And @WALK3RS_J0IN (whose account is now closed) abusing someone in The Fanwings:
Some personal parts have been edited out.
I trust my Admins in The Holiday Club, but @GMFocalFossa (Owner of Ubuntu, who was partnered with us at the time) recently deleted our rules forum and replaced it with a forum called "Join Ubuntu NOW". I kicked him from the club and didn't really do anything else about it.
But this makes me wonder how many Admins I actually want in my club.
So may this be a warning to all Admins out there: If you destroy a club, your account will be banned like @dexapokhrell and @Dancemaster_13.
I hope @Tanishk_101's account can be added to this list.
If anyone would like to share their side of the story in the comments, you're more than welcome to do so.
