Peter Parr, a Father of Chess in Sydney Australia passed away last week.

A Chess Jourrnalist, An international Chess Arbiter,A Captain of The Australian Olympiad Team, Peter Parr did it all.

i tried to find a game  lost to Peter, yet i did find one game we played. He was solid and you had to grind out a win against him as he was tactically very strong and had won the New South Wales State Masters in 1968 from 3 times World Correspondence champion and international crossboard Master, the Champion CJS (cecil) Purdy.  attended Peters Funeral Service Thur 22 Aug 2013. Hs lovely sister and dear Chess fraternity friends were all there to remember his life deeds generosity and love for all chessplayers from all walks of life,enhancing their chess experience and involving them in the chess family community. God Bless you Peter. love you mate.
