2024 Daily Chess Championship - Bringing my chess game to the top level

Let's start of with a quick dad joke:

Why did the chess player bring an elevator to the game?

Because he wanted to take his game to the next level!

cry cry cry

Ok, I know you didn't find that funny and you think I'm stupid, so now let's get to the point.

Using the logic of my joke, in order to beat other players, I have to be in a higher level than my opponent. If my opponent was playing chess.com on the ground floor, I have to go in my elevator or go up the stairs so I can be in a higher level.

But what if someone was playing from the top floor of a 100 level building, then I am no where from winning. So I have decided to immigrate to Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates. You might be asking me, WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU GO THERE??? But I have a brilliant answer. In Dubai, there is the Burj Khalifa, which is the tallest building in the world. 830 meters tall with 163 floors. So I have to be playing the 2024 Daily Chess Championshipwhile being on the top floor of the Burj Khalifa to beat every single opponent.

Well the plan didn't quite work...

I ended up being eliminated in the FIRST ROUND!!!

(This is my first year playing this competition)

I was close getting to the next round, I placed #2 in my group, here is a table showing the result of my group:

Username: Rating: (At that time) Points:
1. KaramT91 1736 22
2. Unkiunki (ME) 1026 20
3. daneil-1 1272 16

As you can see, the person who is at the top of the leaderboard have not lost a single game, that person had 22 points out of 22. I lost two games, which were both against KaramT91, and I won 20 games, 17 of which I won because of timeout. And 13 out of 22 of my games my opponent have not made a single move! This just shows how dedicated people are to chess.

We'll be going through one of my best games in 2024 Daily Chess Championship. This game was played against Parsalidis_Nikolaos and I was playing white. Press here to go to the game.
