The NSP #1 - Pending Prizes, Plans and Ideas
Hey peeps! It's been a while. ![]()
So my blog was kinda dead, I figured that the best course of action would be to use it to share some general - as well as my own personal - updates and ideas for the NSP Leagues. Also aiming for that Printing Press achievement! xD
Well some of the people that worked closely alongside me - mostly admins from these leagues, especially Rapid & Blitz - know me for my *wonderful* ability to write essays, so aside from this *essential* herein paragraph, in this news I'll try my best to keep it short and simple.
Let's divide this blog post in items to get the best out of it.
1. Pending Prizes
This has been the thing which I've been aiming the most to solve ASAP. There are several pending prizes that I couldn't conclude because of being so utterly busy this year.

Most of the free time I get I've been dedicating to help our beloved Mod team with live shows and events and, aside from that, there just hasn't been tons of time for me to sit down and dedicate into building/designing stuff anymore. I'm also kind of engaged and living with my companion, she has two amazing kids and hopefully they'll soon get into chessing! ![]()
There's also my IRL job where I handle Inventory, Online Sales, Dispatch and Social Media Design & Posting (basically I never stop!) and then afterwards I go to the gym, so *definitely* I'll have to sort out how I handle my time, to get back into helping the leagues at least a little bit here and there. Luckily for us now, I'm on vacation until Aug/30 and it'll be precious timing to finish the long deserved trophies for all the winning teams in previous seasons.
So here's an appeal: If some lovely person (or people!) could enlist the player names from the past season winning teams in NSPCL S11, NSPBCL S6 and NSPDCL S2 that'd be ***VERY*** helpful! I need all 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams from these 3 seasons so I can invest my time solely on making the prizes, and then quickly shoot 'em up straight to their respective HoFs. Oh also if there's NSPBUCL ones please do tell, and sorry for not recalling!
2. Streaming
I'm still unsure whether I'll seriously stream in a scheduled way, because of my busy routine. Nonetheless, I thought it'd be cool to stream the designing/editing of medals, trophies and general media for leagues, and also perhaps the editing of sheets so you guys can see the cakes coming out of the oven live.

Do you think that's a cool idea? If so I'll set up some scenes and do it live while texting a bit, since I still do not possess a good mike to set up along with my cam.
The only downside on doing this while streaming is that I'm an absolutely hyperfocused person, therefore it might be a bit hard for me to get used to chatting/chilling while doing stuff live.
Anyway we'll only know when we try, right?
3. Plans for NSP Leagues
So we've been chatting for quite some time in admins discord, mostly NSPCL but several admins from NSPBCL are there as well, and we've come to the conclusion that we'll most likely have a single NSP season for each different league per year.
There are several reasons to this, but I can list some of the most meaningful below:
- Time - Being a NSP admin requires a *LOT* of time AND commitment. It doesn't matter whether you're a Results Collector, a Forfeits Collector, a Teams/Subs Manager, the Primary Point of Contact (PPoC), News/Threads Poster or any other role, you WILL have to dedicate time constantly;
- Stress - There are stressful moments, decisions and sometimes drama which just cannot be avoided. There is tough decision-calling, and even though we try to share the load, it is inevitable that some admins will feel overwhelmed or exhausted.
- Money - We all must make a living, and running club leagues doesn't pay our bills. We do what we do wholeheartedly for the community, but first things come first, and everyone has their life, goals and duties to pursue.
In face of the above, we thought the best course of action is to split the leagues' schedule by not overlapping one league with another, but instead, to perhaps have a fixed schedule for each league. This hasn't been settled quite yet, but it's one of the key items in the agenda.

Aside from the aforementioned topic, below are some of my own personal plans for the NSP Leagues:
- Open Cloud Image Library - Once I sort out my seemingly endless library of NSP images and designs, I plan on releasing it to the public by sending it to a Google Drive folder. There you'll be able to access all imagery and use it for all things regarding the leagues. Also if you're a Team Captain and your team has a logo you'd like to share, I'll put it on a team logos library as well.
- Brand-new Team Rosters - There are 2 ideas I've been considering for a Brand-new Team Rosters Display, and they're both in Google Sheets. The first idea is to have each particular league's Team Rosters inside their respective league sheet. The second idea is to have an "all leagues" major Team Rosters, since many teams participate in more than one NSP league. These are ambitious projects that require *tons* of time and dedication, and although it's more for the future, one of my goals is to finish at least one of these projects once I solve the more urgent pending stuff.
- Captains Manual for NSP Leagues - This is one thing that I'd love to work in, but I'm not quite sure I can. However, in case our most experienced captains would like to help me out in this it'd be much appreciated. My idea was to put all tips and ideas into an easy-to-read document, and have it as a fixed Club Description link.
- Player Leaderboard - This is something that has been requested many many times and even though some people would want to help with this, I'd like to develop it myself because I am familiar with our sheets codes and structure, and thus I'll build it so it can be easily reused for future seasons. It is in the books along with the Brand-New Team Rosters.
- Brand-new Playoff Brackets - Another quite formidable goal to build on Google Sheets. I plan on building it with admin input so that it is easily managed to display the brackets live, discarding the need of having to edit brackets as images.
There are some more ideas of course but these were the ones I could think of now. ![]()
4. Conclusion
I believe this blog post is quite packed already, so let's end it here!
There might be more things to share sometime soon, but for now these are all the pertinent topics I could think of. Please do let me know what you think and how you feel about it, and a huge *THANK YOU* for being a part of the NSP Community! ![]()
In case people are interested, and if you'd like to catch prizes being done live, make sure to give me a follow on Twitch! You can find my channel link on my profile. I'll make sure to wipe the dust outta there sometime soon. ![]()
