Chess has gained popularity lately, mainly because of online chess and some content creators that bring people to the game. Some people start to play chess because it’s interesting, but some people decide to quit or stop playing the game for personal reasons. In light of this, I'd like to present a list of chess masters who have given up on the game.

After winning another qualifying match against Tigran Petrosian, Fischer won the title match against Boris Spassky of the USSR, in Reykjavík, Iceland.
