Dear readers, this post is aimed at club owners and admins possibly interested in joining a league.

After the successful launch of the Phoenix Chess League in June 2024, we were able to start a number of competitions:

  • PCL Thematic Openings S1: a 3 days per move competition having a different pre-set position from the Opening Book. The competition was divided in two sections (Open rating, U1400), and 24 teams registered in each. Six rounds out of seven have been published and/or started so far.
  • PCL THematic Endgames S1: same, but with pre-set endgames positions, 24 teams in 3 groups for the open category, and 27 teams in 4 groups in U1400.
  • PCL Slow Chess S1: a 7 days per move competition, open rating, where 14 teams have been divided in two groups.
  • PCL Slow Chess 960 S1: idem, for Fischer-Random chess (960), with 16 teams in two groups.
  • PCL Fast Vote Chess S1: a 1 day per move vote chess, where each team was paired with two different opponent each week for a super-fast season. 8 teams registered at the beginning, and all rounds have already started.
  • PCL Fast Vote Chess S2: idem, with 32 teams in 8 groups.
  • PCL Fast Vote Chess 960 S1: idem for Fischer-Random chess (960), with eight teams.
  • PCL Super Bingo: a game oriented chess competition following rules similar to the "Bingo", except numbers on a card correspond to specific match types. More on that in a future post.

Early December we also proudly gave our first medals! The PCL Fast Vote Chess S1 was the first competition to end:
