One of the rarest openings is the Zuklertort Opening, Arctic Defense (A04)

1.Nf3 f6

(1. Nf3.. is also Reti)

Chess.com has only 2 games in the database. Chess365.com has 9. With so few entries, there must be a reason. Let's see what can go wrong.

After pawns move to the center, the opening still doesn't look that odd, but a little thought shows the sacrifice of a knight leads to a merry chase with the queen.

2.e4 e5

3.Nxe5 fxe5

4.Qh5+ Ke7

5.Qxe5+ Kf7

6.Bc4+ Kg6

7.Qf5+ Kh6

8.d3+ g5

9.h4 Kg7  (breaking the string of consecutive checks)

10.Qf7+ Kh6

11.hxg5+ {Black king mated} 1-0
