GM Hikaru Nakamura is the favorite chess-player of many players! And I don't blame them! Hikaru is one of the best chess players in the entire world! If you're an experienced chess player, you have probably heard of this legend. Being an experienced chess player, some exciting stuff happens once in a while! And that's what this blog is about:

Top 5 Of Hikaru Nakamura's Best Chess Moments!

This is my 4th blog in the "Top 5 series," and I want to make it interesting!

5. GM Hikaru's Best Chess Game In The PRO Chess League (according to many)!

Grandmaster Hikaru surprised the world on January 6th, 2020, playing an amazing game in the PRO Chess League. He was facing a strong chess player, Peter T. Robertson. I will provide you with an analysis of the game, so stay tuned!

Hikaru (as white) played a surprisingly solid game! That's what made this one really neat! Anyways, I hoped my annotations weren't that bad, until then, we're moving on!

4. Hikaru Plays MrBeast?!

Hikaru and MrBeast organized a huge campaign on Twitch, which turned out to be a large hit! Incase you didn't know (which you probably do), MrBeast is one of the largest YouTubers!! The fact that we all got to see Hikaru play him, is a real treat! MrBeast isn't the best at chess... but that doesn't matter! He's really generous, and knows how to give away loads of money. happy.png

Hikaru was obviously playing odds against him, because... well, grandmasters have lots of trouble beating Hikaru, let alone MrBeast! Hikaru made some videos on these games, so make sure to check them out!

He also made another one, with umm... a creative title! "I Gave Away Half Of My Pieces To MrBeast!"

Very relatable, as you might know, MrBeast is really well known for giving away lots of money!

Now that I already put this into my blog, I might as well look at one of their games! I chose a funny one where MrBeast stalemates Hikaru! surprise.png

What a roller coaster! I really recommend watching the 2 videos shared, the emotions are so high!

Before we move on, make sure to check out Hikaru's channel and MrBeast's channel!

3. Hikaru Teaches xQc!

A lot of you may know an event called PogChamps! Right? Well incase you haven't, here is a brief overview:

PogChamps is an event when some of the biggest streamers come together, to play chess against each other! Large streamers like xQc, Forsen, or even MrBeast compete against each other for very large prize funds, averaging $50,000!! PogChamps made a huge impact on the chess-world, and twitch, bringing many fans and players!

In my opinion, I think that in the past PogChamps event, xQc was definitely the most popular player! Getting regularly coached by Hikaru, and many other Grandmasters! If you don't know who xQc is... well... here is a picture of him:

Coaching xQcOW was definitely a roller coaster! Hikaru even made a dramatic title when uploading his experience on YouTube! Here is the video:

PogChamps 3 is actually coming up really soon! So stay tuned for that! We're ending this round, and moving on to the next!

2. Hikaru "sees the future" With a Brilliant Premove Against @amintabatabei!

This clip was one of the most viewed twitch clips in the world of chess! A lot of YouTube channels exploded, and put this in their YouTube videos! Nakamura stops @amintabatabei's premove with a brilliant "bishop sacrifice!" Lets see what he's up to this time!

Skip to 0:40 for the commotion! WOW! Robert Hess exploded after Hikaru won the game! Truly incredible! Wow... just wow! Everyone was surprised! No wonder this clip exploded on YouTube and Twitch...

This just shows how good of a bullet player Hikaru is! His peak bullet rating is 3570!! He knows what to do during time trouble/pressure! wink.png

And finally... what I thought was my favorite...

1. Hikaru Nakamura Uses The BONGCLOUD In a Serious Tournament Against Jeffery Xiong!

This was my favorite! Some say the Bongcloud is a popular-played opening for a reason... Hikaru uses it! This was a serious tournament, not to mention, and so Levy (@GothamChess) and Anna (@Anna_Chess) absolutely exploded when they saw this opening on the board, and I'm pretty sure EVERYONE who was watching did!

Incredible! The full video will be linked here, if you want to watch the full thing! It's really neat how Hikaru converted such a position, into a great/winning attack! I really recommend watching because it really shows how to bring not-so-great positions into winning positions!

That king on e2 looks beautiful! Am I right? I thought that this was a well-deserved #1! Comment down below if you have any other awesome chess achievements/things that Hikaru Nakamura did, make sure to share them in the comments!
