Road to the Grandmaster title - Game 14 - Draw against Olympic champion WGM Ildiko Madl
Yesterday I played in the Hungarian Top League. 12 players play in every round for each team.
I played on board 9 against Olympic Champion, Woman Grandmaster, International Master Ildikó Mádl.
She won the Chess Olympiad 2 times when played together with the Polgar sisters in 1988 and in 1990

I decided to play the accelerated dragon, because I expected she to play the Maroczy bid and get a positional game, where I think I have the best chance.
She played Nc2 early to stop my original exchange idea and made me to have a clear plan. She put her knight to b5 and d5 and created big pressure on my position.
I felt always ok, but could not generate any attack, just waited and offered exchanges to neutralize her attack. Around the time trouble, I was able to exchange very pieces expect the rooks and got my best position of the game. I was looking for a long endgame
But my team captain said I need to offer a draw to secure the victor for the team. After 15 minutes thinking she accepted the draw:
Today I will play with young indian talent Narendran Gouthaman
