Road to the Grandmaster title - Game 24 - Strong idea against the London system

The last game was against the tournament leader a very talented Hungarian Junior player International Master Gergely Kantor

Gergely prepared very well against the London system and his pawn sacrifice idea with e5 gave him a great position and a quick victory. Looks like his move was not totally new, but no high rated players played before.

He said he prepared with the engine and looks like e5 is the best move by the engine.

It gives excellent compensation for the pawns. Black has space advantage and easy piece development.

This can be a serious challenge against the London system. Probably white need to play Nf3 instead of c3 to prevent the e5 idea.

I am playing in the First Saturday Grandmaster tournament in Budapest, Hungary.

My next opponent is Grandmaster Zlatko Ilincic from Serbia.
