I decided to increase my dedication to reach the Grandmaster title and started to study 2 hours tactics daily. Today was the first day and it went well. I also stream all my training session at https://www.twitch.tv/attilaturzo This way I can stay in contact with many friends and also they, who watch can benefit from my efforts.

Let me share a few puzzles I solved today from

Chess Tactics for the Tournament Player

Today I was listening the Perpetual Chess Podcast. I found it in the summer and I like it so much. It is a weekly podcast about a chess player, or chess coach or chess organizer about his life. Today I listened a podcast about a young american player USCF Master Vinesh Ravuri who made a huge 1000 rating improvement in 3 years.

  • Vinesh told the story of how he got into chess, and shared why he thinks it took multiple exposures to the game, in both the U.S. and India, for a passion for it to take hold.

  • Vinesh and I discussed the many ways to try to improve at chess, and discussed which methods have been most effective for him. Spoiler: he has done a ton of tactics puzzles.

  • Vinesh shared a few book recommendations for different levels, and talked about the challenges he has faced as his rating has climbed and his free time has become more scarce.

I read also about a Polish player, Andrzej Krzywda who decided to reach International Master level from 2100 and he made an International Master norm. His journey is also a good inspiration.

You can read a deep interview about his journey at Chessentials

Today I will play in the Titled Tuesday and Stream it Live.

You can watch the preparation for my games LIVE on twitch at https://twitch.tv/attilaturzo

Thank you for your support!

Have a great day! See you soon!
