Never Give Up-A 3 Check Bonanza

The term 'never give up' seems to be a cliché term, seemingly odd. People always say, the more you put your mind to something, you'll succeed in that, whatever it may be.

In my case, it'd have to be three check. It's become my favourite chess type, apart from blitz, and I've won lots of medals from 3 check club tournaments, and the public tournaments.

I play 1 of the 1I0 3 Check Swiss tournaments every day, and more often than not, I end up in the top 8.

Today I'm going to be showing you some of the games. I've actually been studying impenetrable 3 check defences for both black and white-my repertoire of solid openings as black in 3 check is good, and I'm practicing it. I'm still working on white.

It's rather funny, as yesterday, (22nd September 2021) I beat a player rated 2021 in 3 check! The sad thing is when they lost their rating slumped to 1352, and I've beaten a 1700 player before, so now my best win is VS that opponent in my statssurprise.png

On to the games!

Game 1

This game was played today, I mouseslipped and lost my queen for free. As you may know, losing a queen in 3 check for free is very painful. I came back with a nice back rank checkmate.

Game 2

I've probably covered this in another post, but I'm still getting goosebumps at the game. The adrenaline after the game was amazing. I had beaten my first titled player!

Game 3

This game was an extremely hyped up game. I was struggling my way up the crowded leaderboard in the top 10 in the tournament, and the last game of the tournament was VS an 1800. It was a brilliantly tight game:

Game 4

This game, again, was won from a queen down. This was against that 2021 player I was talking about!

[P.S. They're rated 775 now in 3 checkmeh.png]

Game 5

This game was nail-biting. I had this feeling on move 7 that I had fallen into a trap VS this 1590 player, but it was thanks to my queen that this game fell in my hands.

Game 6

This was a game of sacrifices and deception. I'd feel that my opponent had the upper hand in the opening.

Game 7

@ChessPit_Bull was always going to be a tough opponent, and this game truly showed my potential.

That's pretty much it! I'm aiming to go higher and higher, and I'll make newer 3 check blogs in the future!
