This position from the Kasparov-Karpov World Championship, 1985 was noted in Lev Alburt's Secrets of the Russian Chess Masters: Beyond the Basics. According to Kasparov, Karpov made a hasty, though natural move which turned out to be a subtle, though major blunder. According to Robert Byrnes of the NYTimes, "Anatoly Karpov made one of the worst blunders ever to occur in a world championship chess match in dropping the 11th game of the current series in Moscow to the challenger, Gary Kasparov."
