Thematic Chess
I received an email from a gentleman named Denis Hebbelynck of Oudenaarde, Belgium. In the message he explained that 3 years ago he started a thematic email chess tournament club called THEM (apparently short for thematic) and he invited me to join. While I don't play email chess, I do find the idea interesting particularly in the narrow sense of Mr. Hebbelynck's club. As a sample, he listed some of the new thematics looking for participants: THEM16 : Woozle defence : 1.d4 c5 2.d5 Nf6 3.Nc3 Qa5 4.??
THEM17 : Lemming defence : 1.e4 Na6 2.?? THEM18 : Scandinavian defence : 1.e4 d5 2.exd5 Nf6 3.??
THEM19 : Norwegian defence : 1.e4 g6 2.d4 Nf6 3.e5 Nh5 4.g4 Ng7 5.??
THEM20 : Bishop's opening : 1.e4 e5 2.Bc4
as well as noting that one can still join the following: THEM01 : Polish :1.b4
