¨How to get better at chess¨ U1100
Hello guys itś @bizarreguest
today's post is about ¨How to get better at chess¨ anyway enjoy!!!
These days I see a lot of questions from U1100 that look like the one below...
¨How can I can get better at chess¨
Well today I am going to answer that question in today's blog!
Puzzles!
If you have read my other blogs you know how I talk about how vital they are in chess.
They can help you with...
- Awareness skills, I have not yet talked about how puzzles can help with your awareness and when checkmate is near you can sense and counter it!!!!!!!
- Calculation skills, Doing puzzles can help you calculate in positions. For example, improving your calculation skills you can calculate threats you opponent might not even be aware of!
- Analyzation skills,Analyzation skills can help you a ton if you do not know a good analytical process click Here!
If you want to access puzzles really fast click on the image below!
Playing at least 1/4 of your time in chess is a good way to improve. Tho If you feel like you are tilting at where you are try doing puzzles for 1-3 weeks
The chart bellow specifies how much time
| -50 points | 1 week |
| -100 points | 2-3 weeks |
| -200 points | 1 month |
Tilting more than 200 points you would want to take a break and do puzzles for 1 month.
Definition of Tilting
Tilting in terms of chess means to lose points.
When I mean study I don´t mean take out your science textbook and do a chapter?!
I mean studying chess books NM @EnergeticHay (He is a Top Blogger!) provides a blog where he gives some book suggestions you can see them here
When you are studying the books make sure to Interrogate
what you learned in your chess!
Itś a also a good habit once you find you´re opening boring to switch it up with something brand new that is described in your books and one you like
.
These two things can help you a lot in chess and with that have fun chessing and increasing your ratting!
