Analysing My Own Games: Forking Hell
Post lunch time chess is always dangerous as I have a knack for feeling sleepy.
This doesn't explain missing a tactic in this 10 minute blitz game.
This does give me good awareness of flaws in my thinking ... not getting the balance right between positional and tactical timing.
Firstly, a training position from my game.
Black to Move (what I missed)
Instead, I was thinking too positionally wanting to "free" by bad light squared bishop.
Initiative in the Centre
This was an interesting opening position that I missed the chance to play ... Ne4. A similar idea comes about in the QGD.
