Blitz Tactics 2016-11-15
When you limit yourself to a maximum of 3 blitz games a day, you better make them count. It forces you not to go on a binge session
From my daily exploits, here is a review of tactics which I missed (and which I saw)
Game 1: White to play
I never really looked past 15. e6, but it is a killer, with deadly forks at e7, f7 coupled with Bxh7 ideas.
Game 1: White to play
Here the Greek gift works, coupled with f7 being attacked so many times. Found this one during the game.
Game 2: White to move (and blunder)
My opponent played 25. f3 which falls into Ng3+ and resigned
Game 3: Black to move
During the game I played the obvious Nxh4, but instead missed the clever Nf4 which forces the White Queen away from the defence of the important d4 square
Game 3: Black to move (and blunder)
30. ... Qd8 is a mistake which comes about from not accepting that one is no long better. I saw that White would have Qxe6 but missed Qc7 mate as a blind spot.
Game 3: Black to move
24. ... g5 would have been best to maintain absolute tension, instead I liquidated with 24. ... hxg3 which gives White too much play
