This summer, I had completed my schooling and graduated with a degree in computer programming. I had also entered the job market and, as such, now had some money to start playing in tournaments that were further away and more expensive. This would be my first multi-day money tournament. It was a bit unfortunate that I would come into this tournament at EXACTLY 1600, one point too high to play in the U1600 section, but I still managed 2 points. I got a forfiet win in round one owing to, if I remember correctly, an administrative mistake. My 1st round opponent had intended to play Saturday morning, not Friday night.
