2016,acccept it or not was a wonderful year for the chess world.Karjakin won the Candidates tournament in a very dramatic and interesting game against U.S. Champion Fabiano Caruana who remains one of the strongest grandmasters today.However,he could not manage to bring the World Championship title back to Russia.As compensation,he did get to become the World Blitz Chess Champion at Qatar.And a whole lot of tournaments were held with beautiful games being played at the top level..
