My Atlanta Trip...
So you all see in the movies ( and a few lucky ones who have daily access) the chess parks in the big cities. I was able to go to one in Atlanta last week and man was it awesome! I have to give a shout out to Eric for this awesome website... if it wasn't for him, I would have looked like a complete fool. As it was, I was not the best there, but I was able to hold my own for quite a few rounds. I think I was there for about three to four hours for two days. It was freezing! I had to buy a coat on the first day from this store close by. I looked like an idiot cuz the only one they had was this brown and orange one in XL ( I'm only 155lbs ) that and I was the only white guy in the park who wasn't burnt out on crack! I made some good friends down there and will definitely be going back. The name of the park was Woodruff Park. They had tables you could give your DL in exchange for and their was a huge board ( pictured ). I have to say this was one of the coolest things I have ever done. I am totally inspired to advance my game. I also have the thought of seeing if I can start something similar in Olympia, Wa. Who knows... it just might happen!
