Mistakes often repeated in simultaneous exhibition play
Grandmaster Bronstein said that in his simultaneous exhibitions, he could count on replaying Morphy’s game from the Paris opera house at least once.
It sounds like a tall tale to me, if only because I can’t see Bronstein playing 1. e4 on 100 boards of a 100-board exhibition, and transposing to Morphy-Allies by 1. d4 d6 2. e4 e5 3. Nf3 Bg4 seems too far-fetched.
However, I think I get one of these in, say, every other simultaneous.
